Gynaecological check-up during 2ww?

So I'm pretty sure I O'ed today at CD13. I have a gynaechological check-up Tuesday or what will be 2 DPO. He wants to see if there are any easy to see reasons for why it's taking me and DH so long to conceive as we've been trying since October 2013. Other than DH's less than perfect SA results.

Does anyone know if it could potentially harm my chances if the egg is fertilized to have this examination or is it ok? My GP said it'd be fine but I don't have much faith in him and wanted to hear what everyone else thinks

I think if your GP says it's okay, then go with their advice. I had a gyno check up at 6 weeks pregnant. My GP went ahead and did a pap smear during my initial exam. I spotted for a few days and then went on to have a healthy pregnancy. I know it may be a bit scary, but I think it'll be fine.
