I went to docs n told her (dr specifies in fertility) that my cycles have always been 28 days then went to a 39 day cycle an now on cd36 so thought I might not be ovulating and we have been trying for another child since dd was about 6 weeks old!

Any way she sed that's normal as I had baby 8 months ago and it takes 12 months to go back to normal,

She then sed why would u want another baby so soon after first?
I sed we had always planned it this way etc when she laughed and sed well it's too much hard work for you your only 24!

Come back in 3 months an il sen you for a blood test to see of your ovulating?!? Is this normal from my gp??? x

Why is it her business if you want to have another baby she just needs to do her job?!?!?!

EXACTLY!!!

I had to change Drs because when I went to my preconception appointment, I was asking him about charting and this was his reply "Well, you can do that if you want it to be a science experiment"

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT?!?!

Exactly! Thats what I thought! Im thinkin of changing doctors to be at same as oh x

Change doctors!! That doctor just sounds like an inconsiderate bitch! You need support and help not to be judged and laughed at! Good luck hunny :) tons of baby dust to you :) xxxxxxx

:o It's not their place to tell you when to have children, your doctor sounds very rude!

I've just been today and briefly asked what should I do if I don't conceive and her reply was "Come back in 2 years and we will discuss it" .... 2 YEARS?!

Hey Twinkl3, how long have you been ttc? I have never heard of anyone being told to wait 2 years in all my life! That is crazy. If you are in your 20s it about a year and in your 30 its about 6 months! Personally, if you are at about a year, i would lie about the length of time ttc to get some tests done.

:growlmad:

LOL. I would have told her straight to mind her own business.
Shes told you to come back in 3 months for tests cos they wont test until youve been ttc for a year.

sounds exactly like my doctors! its the most annoying thing like the others said its up to you!
Even after being diagnosed with PCOS i STILL didnt get help because 'im young and i should be patient'
I had to beg him to send me to FS and then he was just a useless!

Id change or go bk and say thats not good enough you want the blood test done!
Good luck x

if i changed doctors tho is the new one likely to send me for tests as it hasnt been 12 months?

i didnt even go as i havnt got pregnant after like 6 months i went because my periods have become irregular and i wanted to check for things like pcos etc to make sure i actually 'can' get pregnant again! but she totally disregarded the fact that i was curious why my periods had gone from 28 days long to 39days and longer! x

oh and can i add, she told me you shouldnt start trying until baby is at least 6 months old as it isnt right!!! this is baloney as my oh and his brother have a year between them as do my niece and nephew and thats how i wanted mine! x

I thought they teach doctors how to have a proper bedside manner in medical school?

My GP is the same. She told me that god will decide when I can have kids and maybe it's not in gods plan for me to have kids and I might as well accept it. No joke. The same dr got mad at me to going to a fertility specialist "behind her back." Umm...my OBGYN (who I have been going to for longer than my GP) referred me to the specialist, so I don't really see how that is behind her back???

I should mention, this is the same GP who wouldn't prescribe me BCP after I got married because I should be trying for children, and now that we are trying it's not in god's plan!?!

If you can, I'd suggest trying another doc, or if you have an OBGYN going to see them. It's none of your doctor's business how far you space your children out!

I would change doctors. I know for me, it is hard to find a good doctor.

Wow! I hope you took your own advice, your doctor sounds like she wants to be a minister instead of a medical professional. Have you looked for a new one?

What horrible things to say. I cannot believe the questioning the time between babies and the science experiment thing. I would quit them in a heartbeat!

They proberley wouldnt send you for fertility tests untill 12 months but like you said you want to know if there is a underlying problem!!
They have no right to tell you when you should or shouldnt be trying to have another baby!
God help the ones who acidently fall pg straight after having a baby, who have to see them!

Iv just started trying for number 2 and my lo is 8 months and iam worried what people will think which is why i havnt told enyone, and im also scared to go to doctors for advice! im not sure if its possible to send letters to all the local docs and explain that you are looking for a doctor who is helpful for women concerning the fertility area? i was thinking of doing that but im not sure if thats even possible!
x

drs are like that i wanted to do blood test to see if i was ovulating but he said he wouldnt until i see the fs.
