Has anyone heard of "internal qc"? Just got a pregnancy test done at doc's office.

I went to the doctor's today for sharp pain in my pelvis. She checked my urine for for UTI (which was negative) and also the urine pregnancy test. She did two types of urine pregnancy test. The first was a traditional test that detects hcg of at least 25 m/ul or higher. The second was called "internal qc." I have never heard of that before, but after doing some research, it says the internal qc can detect hcg hormones that is less than 25 m/ul.

My test results ended up being negative for the traditional pregnancy test, and positive for the internal qc. She then sent me to get my blood drawn for the hcg level. She didnt tell me I was pregnant or anything. She just said she would call me with the results adn if the blood test came back negative, it would either mean I am not pregnant, or that its too early to tell. My period is due in 3 days. I still dont understand why the internal qc says positive though.

Have you been tested for pregnancy using this method before? Thanks

Never heard if this, sorry! Hoping you get the results you want.
