well ladies update time.. you where all right baby had opened her bowels and it was meconium I was leaking, I went to the hospital the following morning at 9am and explained what had been happening they did an ultrasound and determined the fluid around baby was very low.. I was sent up for a stress test.. baby was showing signs of distress and I was 2/3 centimetres dilated, with a womb infection, we where admitted around 3pm and put on continuos monitoring until a space became available on the delivery ward as it was extremely busy.. they kept on monitoring and I was told baby was doing ok .. but was showing accelerations in heartbeat they reasssured me that the next spot on labour ward was mine, at around 1am babys condition worsened slightly I was wheeled down and they put up a hormone drip at 2am ...
I wasnt allowed to use the birthing ball or the bath I just had to stay on the bed lying flat as I was still being constantly monitored but baby was doing ok.. the contractions became really intense around 7.00 am and the midiwife did an internal check at 8.50 and deemed me to be at 4 centimetres dilated!! I was horrified as these where contractions that i'd only felt at 10 centimetres with my other 3 children, I became distressed and told my OH that I needed the epidural, I was thinking to myself *if I have only dilated 1 centimetre since 2am and thats nearly 6 hours then i'm not gonna deliver until tomorrow night at the earliest* they told me I could have it but i'd have to wait for a short time as they were soooo busy.. by this stage the contractions where not stopping and where at the strongest I have ever felt.. I was using gas and air only, and I swear I think I broke my own nose I was squeezing the mask to my face so hard!!
At 8.15am (25 minutes after I had been told I was 4 centimetres dilated) I began to push... a complete shock to my OH and the midwife... I pushed for Ireland and the beautiful baby faela ann-gela made her entrance to the world at 8.24am friday 23rd sept 40 weeks 1 day weighing 7lbs 6 ozs with a full head of dark hair!! .. A whole 9 minutes later!!! She was a bit shocked as was I but otherwise comletely fine.. she had difficulities for the first 12 hours keeping herself warm and had to stay in the incubator.. as for now she is lying here in her little crib making the cutest little baby noises ever.. I will post pics of her in a wee while as my blackberry is upstairs with all the pics and my OH is up there sleeping (he has been up half the night lol) ... anyways thanks for reading, and good luck to all of you x x x

aww thank you.. faela means faerie in gaelic (and she is a little faerie).. and her grandmothers are ann and angela hence ann-gela lol ...
