My husband had surgery in February to repair a varicocele, remove a spermatocele and 3 cysts. This was his first Semen Analysis after surgery. He had a semen analysis back in October of 2012, but it's format was entirely different. I will post what I have tomorrow as soon as I get a copy from the office.

Does someone mind explaining this to me? I know the count is quite low at 15 million instead of the normal 40 million and of course volume and viscosity are fine. Can you explain the motility, morphology, and forward progression? Is the 55 and 25% the amount NORMAL or abnormal, I guess is what I need most?

Volume 2.5mL (reference 2-10)

Count 6mil/mL

Motility 55 %

Morphology 25%

Forward Prog. 2+ (reference 2+)

Round ell conc: 3 (reference 0-9 wbc)

Viscosity: Normal

Hi! I have not the faintest idea, sorry! I wanted to suggest you google normal semen analysis and see what you get. I'm a google fanatic and you can usually get what you want somewhere off the web! Good luck!

Motility is how well they are moving, 55% is great from my understanding. 25-50 is what you are aiming for at the very least.

Morphology is how well shaped they are. Normal is around 30%.

My husband had a vasectomy reversal last year and we are just at the point where we ought to start seeing his numbers going up if we are going to be lucky. He has a low count and that is all that I am 100% sure of right now.

Keep in mind, that everything changes in 3 months for men. We have a monthly cycle, but it takes them 3 months to ejaculate a whole new batch even though they are producing new every day.
