I have acne due to my PCOS and it's a lot worse since I've been pregnant.

I had one of those really sore under the skin spots come up on my chin. I was in agony with it and couldn't even talk without it killing me, it was so big. I know I shouldn't but I popped it with a pin and squeezed it. I have done this before with really sore ones and it tends to ease the pain a little.

However when I woke up that whole side of my chin is swollen! :dohh:
Like really swollen. It's made the left side of my lip swell a little too and when I talk it looks weird.

Why has this happened? Is it pregnancy related? All the times I've popped spots this has never happened to me  how can I ease it?

Please help!

Use Neropsorin, the cream one (it's white) not the clear one.. it helps alot. I can only guess though what happened when you popped it though- the Bactria tends to spread when you do that-
But 20 years ago with my first pregnancy (I also have pcos) my face got so bad.. looked like a pizza and it hurt! Someone told me about the nerosporin and I have used it ever since! Iy was a life saver. the cream one looks like the same packaging as the clear but it will say cream and have some light blue around the word cream.

I'm not sure why it's happened but I guess that's why we're told not to touch them, easier said than done though.

I'd suggest using something very gentle on the skin to clean your face with and don't touch it, you'll just make it worse. I don't know if you often wear make up? I know I do to try and cover the spots but try to avoid this too or at least away from that area.

I'm not sure if we can use tea tree oil when pregnant? But if we can you could try diluting some and using that too, it can work wonders.

I told my dr I used tea tree oil after I get my Brazilian to prevent hair bumps. She didn't tell me not to use it, so I'm guessing it's ok...but check with your dr to be safe.

Seems like the bacteria got pushed into your skin and spread. Try a warm/cold compress and put some antibacterial cream on the area. Try not to squeeze it anymore. Also if it gets really bad, talk to your doc about erythromycin. It's safe in pregnancy and you can get it in topical form. I'm allergic to pencillin so erythromycin is usually the antibiotic I get put on if I have an infection ect.. x
