Hoping April is Our month for good things to happen

Happy Birthday Beagle.

Sorry for AF savvy.

After about 8 months ttc I went back to my OB who ran the basic tests over the next 2 cycles and then referred me to an RE. (I was 35 at the time though). My best friend from high school was frustrated after 4 months and so told her doctor she had been trying for 6 to start the testing - she got PG that month.

Erin - I think the O held out for most of them. I am pretty sure the cramping I experienced after the IUIs was actually Ovulation cramping and it occurred about 36 hours after the shots. (which was right after a couple of the IUIs and 12 hours after the IUI I did 24 hrs after the shot.) Good luck tomorrow!!!

AFM - I think AF is finally actually here. I stopped by the clinic today to pay one last bill before my insurance changes over on Thursday and they ended up running day 3 labs today since it has been odd. I was after monitoring hours so they wont have the results until tomorrow.

FBG, glad you checked in, we were wondering where you were! Sorry to hear you are having some odd cycles, hopefully you will get some highs on your monitor or a + opk soon.

Moni, I am sorry AF got you too but it looks like we are cycle day buddies. I hope you get some good results back tomorrow.

Hi girls, I came across your thread last week while searching for grapefruit juice or coq10 or who knows what now. It took me a week to get to the end! If you have room for another, I'll join you in your May thread. I'm 35, just started seeing a RE a few weeks ago when my ob pretty much told me I was old upon my 35th bday to get started now and see a specialist. So now, I'm going through the testing and stress and have only confided in my mom. She had me at 34 and that was in the 70's so I thought I had time. Both my grandmothers had their last of 4 kids at 40. One was in the holocaust and didn't even have a period for 4 years and went on to have 4 healthy boys, so this is shocking to me. I know it is to all of you too. I like the air of optimism you've mentioned. I may be disillusioned, but through all the stress and tests and scary things doctors and nurses tell me, I kind of feel like one of these days I'll fall pregnant like I'm supposed to. I mean all those years of practice can't be in vain! ;)

I am glad you found us. I will probably start a new thread in the next day or so. I have decided that I WILL fall pregnant. So I no longer say things like IF I get pregnant. How long have you been off birth control?

Good luck to you!

Don't know if I said this, but before lunch my meds were already at the house. So I am all set. So glad I got everything straightened out.

Checking in - looks like the antibiotics have finally kicked in today. My throat is no longer sore! Yay! (for me that's the worst part of a cold - the sore throat!) Still having a lot of mucus though (although I wish I had that much mucus down there! LOL!!)

Went to the airport to pick up my parents last night and SMEP starts tonight. We'll see how that goes!

Savvy - so sorry for AF. I truly hope that you will get some answers after your RE's visit. They must have a way to lengthen your LP and let's hope that's all you need for your BFP!

Erin & Beaglemom - so excited for your monitored cycles with trigger! Oh and happy birthday Beaglemom! 32 is still young - I think 25-35 is the prime age range for female fertility so you still have plenty of time! For me, I didn't start TTC until *after* I celebrated my 35th birthday, and that was when I had the "baby talk" with DH. DH is one year younger than me (technically 11 months and 1 week! LOL!) so he actually wanted to wait another 2-3 years! But I convinced him that we needed to start trying because you don't know how long it'll take. Now he wish we started sooner!

I'm excited about May for all of us too! It's the month of Mother's Day! How appropriate to fall pregnant in May!

Thanks and I'm happy to find you too. Happy birthday, cheers to a new start and year for you.

I've been off birth control for 2 years now, but I stopped because I didn't want to take a pill anymore, I was getting uncharacteristically emotional. I downloaded a period tracker app to tell me when my fertile window was and I'd skip sex the whole week.

Last summer, I stopped paying too much attention but have been officially trying since February. Also last summer, I started spotting mid cycle and got scared. My gyn ran some tests on me told me I'm fine, I'm young, not to worry, etc. when I asked him why I could be spotting for about 3 months when I never had in my life he said it was nothing to worry about, I prob wasn't ovulating every month. That freaked me out! I said I don't care if I don't want a baby this minute but I want my body to behave normally.

Coincidentally, amidst the testing shortly after I had a hystoscropy, I started having intense cramping which I googled and found out was ovulation cramping. I figured it was a good sign but the dr made me scared about possibly not ovulating so booked an appointment with the practice a couple months later and said I wanted to talk about ttc. I was put with an ob instead of the gyn I'd been seeing. I told her I'd been trying for more than 6 months so she'd run tests on me. Little did I know she'd send me off to a re so quickly. She did though see in the hystoscropy that I was ovulating at the time and I appear to be doing so since using opk's these last few months.

Beaglemom Happy Birthday! So many yummy treats on your birthday! I hope you have a great birthday!
Erin I had the same thing with my temp being at pre-O when I did the trigger. I wondered if anyone else had this issue as well. I also should have done an opk the next morning after the trigger but did it on day of IUI instead. Which was probably the reason for it being a –. So excited for your IUI tomorrow. Mine was super easy and didn’t even know he was doing it and done lol.
Savvy That stinks it is AF. Did you test? It is probably too early but just in case ya know?
Moni Let us know what the labs say! Sorry to hear this had been a weird cycle.
FBG Mine has been messed up this cycle too! I hate when it is like this because it has me on pins and needles all the time. And DH has to be ready to go! Lol
Welcome Wantaminime!!
floridasian So glad to hear you are feeling better. Enjoy the time with the family!

AFM I know I told you all we are slowing down a bit. So I called to relay that to my REs office. I had a few things I wanted to address 1. Being the slowing down so that way we can get caught up on medical bills and save some money 2. Prescription for prenatal vitamins 3. Asking if I can still continue my letrozole/femara and 4. Can I trigger without being monitored?
Well, the nurse said she totally understands that we need a break not only financially but probably emotionally and physically. I agreed with that completely! She also told me that she doesn’t know about me being able to take the letrozole and that she would have to ask him. I said fine if he says no I will just cry and get over it lol. And no doing trigger without an ultrasound because if I do it too soon I will mess up eggs and if I wait until I get a + opk then it is really too late at that point. She let me go so she could ask the doctor the questions.
She called me back and said I have a few things for you. He said that you can continue with the letrozole/femara. YAY! And then she proceeds to tell me that she will do my ultrasound for FREE…I repeat FREE this coming cycle. Turns out she has to perform so many a year and it’s required by the state. Then she can show Dr. Chin and he can tell us when to trigger. So game plan has changed to doing letrozole/femara CD3-7 also going to take fetilaid, fertileCM, and guaifenesin pills. Then trigger when directed by dr. Then do timed intercourse. So that means this cycle will really cost us nothing. So we might be able do the IUI since that is the only thing we are going to have to pay for. We are going to wait and see how it plays out since we still do not know how much our bill will be for our surgery and it has to be paid in full before we can do another IUI with the RE. I wanted to call today to find out but had to be a test administer so had no time. Will call tomorrow though and find out how much we owe.
It is exciting though! Especially after surgery!

Awesome!

May is going to be great, ladies!!!

Welcome wantaminime! We def have room for you! Some girls come and go, but there are several of us who've stayed together for several months now. :flower:

beaglemom, that's GREAT that you got your meds. I'm so excited for you, wuhu!!

misaacs, thats so exciting how willing your RE was to work with you! How wonderful! I'm happy to hear this, as I know you really didn't want to have to stop!

FBG, it's SO Great to hear from you on here! Sorry for the messed up cycles... hmmm... I wonder what that's about. Well, don't worry too much, because sometimes that just happens during the TTC journey. It probably happened even when we weren't TTC, and maybe we just never paid enough attention to notice! Looking forward to a May BFP for you too!

floridasian, glad you're feeling better! btw, my DH is FOUR years younger than me, lol. So you can imagine when I told him I was ready to start TTC at 36, and he was like huh??? LOL Him being only 32 at the time, he would've been happy putting it off another couple years, but he was okay with getting started. In fact, now he's SUPER ready for me to be prego. :)

moni, GL with your natural cycles! I've heard a lot of women deciding to do IVF, and then getting prego before they can even get to IVF. :) I bet that'll happen to you.

Hi savvy! Hope AF isn't treating you too badly.

AFM, I dont know if its the ovidrel or what, but I feel bloated and my lower abdomen feels somewhat uncomfortable. I'm imagining it just being the extra stimulation in my ovaries, but I suppose it could be anything. I don't feel any pain... just uncomfortable. Can't wait to ovulate and have the IUI and be in the TWW so that some of these symptoms might go away (or perhaps.... end up staying for nine months!) heheeh

I really didn't want to stop but we have to do what we have to do to get bills paid. DH has really been stressed about it! That's what really pushed me was him being so stressed and unhappy.

I hear the shot can def cause bloating.

After I turned 30 I spent 18 months convincing my husband. We had given up ttc and spent 6 happy years childless. Now he is more excited than me. My FS was nervous when I told her that. We both said no worries we are both completely on board! I had to be patient and gentle with him. I knew I was young. And I also knew we made the ttc decision together, the decision to stop together, the decision to be happy and move on together. So we had to make the decision to get back on board together.

misaacs that's awesome!

Erin - thanks here's hoping. And yes, I had crazy bloating from the clomid/ovidrel combo...my doctor said well at least you know it is working!

Welcome wantaminime! Glad you joined us! What CD are you on?

Floridasian, glad you are finally feeling better right in time for your parents to visit and you to get started on SMEP...good luck! :)

misaacs, awesome news about the u/s!

Erin, good luck tomorrow with the IUI!

AFM, Nothing new here...just the usual cramps from AF.

I took my first follistim injection. Very nerve racking. I also decided very last minute I could not let my husband do it. Every time he came at me I cringed & backed away. I also got caught up on Skype with my sister so totally forgot until my alarm went off...so the shot was in the fridge still! So then I was all freaked out it would be more painful. I used ice to numb and I also held the vile in my hand a bit while he watched the video to warm it & in the end, it was not bad at all. So I guess I can do this on my own...but I wonder if I should let him do it to feel involved. I think we were slightly past our "quarter after at the latest" time frame.

Good job, glad it went well! I am sure the timing was okay, they usually say to space them evenly so you have the correct dosage in your system at all times, I think if it was a few minutes later then normal it would be okay, they just don't want you to be like 2 hours later than normal. This goes for all meds.

Did you get a birthday drink? I hope you enjoyed your day!

Happy birthday, beaglemom! Sounds like you took full advantage of the free deals! :)

Savvy, I'm on CD 4 - AF is almost over. Looks like several of us are on very similar cycles this month.

Thanks for the input everyone on when to seek testing. I have an appointment in August for my annual OBGYN check-up. So, if not pregnant by then I will definitely mention it to her and see what she says about testing. I'll have been trying for just short of a year by then. Until just recently, I was going to the GYN twice a year for paps. Several years ago, I had multiple abnormal pap tests. Because I had two abnormal findings in a row, I had to get a colposcopy and had a biopsy. They found some slight irregular cell growth. This past year, I finally had a normal result on my pap and only have to be tested once per year. This past August, I told my GYN that we would be trying soon and she assured me that there wouldn't be issue from my irregular findings. So, hopefully that's the case - but, I think I might have some more leverage for wanting testing if it gets to that point. I also think that by charting and getting a OPK I'll have a little more data to share. I'm a planner, so being proactive is helping me to stay calm :)

Also, welcome to the group Wantaminime! I'm a newcomer to the group as well and everyone has been so welcoming and friendly! :) I wish you all the best this month!!

No birthday drink. My mood has changed a lot in just a day. So i didn't really feel like it once we got to dinner. But I ate A LOT!

Jane, nice to have some similar CD buddies! I absolutely love temping and using opks, I am also a planner and it helps give me the information I need. I have charts to show the RE which should help give her more information then me just saying, "I have no clue why I am not pregnant after a year." Do you temp and chart with fertility friend?

Thanks for the welcome! I'm on cycle day 12 but ovulated early this month so now in the tww as of Monday. I usually have around 25 day cycles.
