How are you going to Announce Pregnancy?

I told my mom after I told my husband and my sister, lol. Then I tell my mother. Next day, my grandparents from Russia call me to congratulate! Word gets around the world FAST!

mother-in-law* :dohh:

Dear Family and Friends;

After one very hot night of wild monkey sex we are pleased to announce we are expecting!

Yay!

Hallmark DOES NOT make a card for that! lol

We've already told both our mums. The only big announcment we want to make is to our daughter. She's 5 and desperate to be a big sister. She actually cried yesterday because one of her schoolfriends has a new baby brother.

We're going to wait until the morning of our 20week scan, which I'm expecting, going by current dates, to be the week before Christmas.
We'll give her a card which will read "Merry Christmas to my Big Sister!" and then take her along to the scan to see her baby brother or sister!

Don't think we can tell her any sooner, as it's such a long time for a little girl to wait!!

We told MIL last night by watching our wedding DVD, on the end of it we got messages from all our friends, and family she said "I love you both to death, Im so delighted to have a daughter at last! But please don't wait too long to give me Grandkids!" so Hubby paused it, and said "So how are you fixed for April?"

She was DELIGHTED! :happydance:

I'm loving reading all of these! I'm still trying to think of ways to tell some friends and family so I may steal some of these... :) xox

The first time, we said unfortunately we cant go skiing this feb we are all going to be very busy...

the second time, I just rang mum and said, oh by the way we got a positive...
for the MIL/FIL We sent them a pic message of the test!

and got a OMG in reply!

We are going to be telling the grandparents after the 12 weeks scan, just take the pic up and say we thought you might like to see this!

my mum accidently told my brother, and she will probably tell my aunts and uncle.

I went out and bought a t-shirt for my daughter that says.. I'm going to be a big sister..
We are having a family dinner in early Nov. so we plan on changing Emily into that shift half way through the event.

For my parents I haven't got a good idea yet. They are in the states and we are in the UK, this will be their first grandchild so I want to do something really special so need ideas.

For MIL my hubby came up with a good one. Whenever we go on holiday we tend to ask my MIL to house sit. So when we look to book a holiday we always ask her if she is free for certain dates. So after the 12 week scan (4 weeks from today yippie) He is going to call her and ask if she will be available on the 2nd of May and she will ask where we are planning on going and he is going to reply 'East Surrey Hospital..(pause)..Maternity Ward.

All your ways of announcing sound great!

We were telling my OH's parents... and he just looked at me and said "She's up the duff" Not sure where it came from as he had a big speech planned. Must have been the nerves. x

I told my mom right away because on a daily basis she had been asking "did you get your period?" I had waited so long to have children (I am 34) that she was beginning to think I wouldn't have one. I knew that saddened her greatly. I don't know how i will tell my other close family members or work yet. my bf and i work in the same law firm.

Before I could even think of a cute way to announce it hubby blurted out, "Your mom's pregnant" in the kitchen the other night. Once the boys knew it was all over town.

we just told MIL & BIL last sunday at dinner. During dessert I switched out their coffee mugs to "soon to be grandma....finally!" and "uncle to be 2012, spoiling dept." Of course neither of them noticed so i asked MIL if i gave her the right mug and she said "tastes good" DH had to force her to read the mug of which she immediately started crying and hugging us! (first grandchild, DH is her youngest and he's 42!) BIL needed a full explaination (men can be so dense sometimes:haha:)

My family we haven't figured out yet. I thought i might tell my sis & dad on oct 1st (my 12 wk) after the annual fundraiser walk, but just found out that my 1st u/s is gonna be 10/6 so we may wait:shrug:. Not so close to my mom and NOOOO idea how to do that one at all!!!

Lovely stories girlies....

We are not telling a sole until 12 weeks because we had a terrible scare at 6 weeks which makes us want to hibernate for the full 9 months!!! :haha:

Plus we have some heart-shaped uterus action going on which give us 63% chance of giving birth to a live baby!!! :(

In short... were very cautious....:winkwink:

My mum lives miles away but we speak everyday and DH and I visit often, so I've ordered a travel cot which Im going to get couriered to her with a note saying... 'Think u might need this from April... x'

I have ordered loads of bibs from 'the bees tees' saying things like 'I have more hair than grandad Russ!' and 'If u think im cute you should see my autie Verity' and 'My fingers might be small but I still have my aunti amelia and uncle steven wrapped round them!'

They look great! :happydance:

happy telling x x x

Unfortunately alot of them have gone to ntnp cuz life is getting in the way right now  Pipsqueek got hers last week i think? I have a feeling alot more are to come cuz ntnp tend to breed BFP's:haha::haha:

I'm trying to stay positive too! DH banned me from anymore "research on google" but i think that'll ease up once we tell our friend (they ALL have kids since we waited so long:haha:)
how have you been?

My DH changed plans and wants to tell his Dad on his dad's birthday with a "Happy Birthday" Grandpa card. I will let you know how it goes.

I got my "New Mom 2012" shirt it in. I can't wait to wear it to work!!!! But it will be at least 5 weeks more before I do that. Anyone else having problems keeping the biggest secret of your lives?

If I can keep my mouth shut for the next six weeks it's gonna be a miracle. :D At the same time I'm very much enjoying the secret. :) Gives me goosebumps and a somersaulting tummy every time I think of telling people. :happydance:
