How come I don't get told my baby is engaging????

Little rant here... hehe

A lot of you ladies are being told that this or that is baby engaging or you know you're 1/5 etc... and I haven't been told anything about that My last weeks ultrasound the specialist couldn't even get a good measurement of her head as she was so far down, lots more pressure and pain down there for sure but no one mentioned anything to me about head engaging... I want to know these things too (feet stomping) hehe. I am so asking my next appt tomorrow!

Also my bump is lower too!

16 more days and she is here So the whole engaging thing doesn't actually matter it's just me being hormonal and wanting to know!! lol

lol my mum told me that baby was down and engaged, i had a scan last week and they didnt tell me, so its not just you

I only started getting told a couple weeks ago, I had a scan at 36 weeks where I was told he was fairly far down and then that week my MW wrote in my notes for first time how engaged he was.

I never got told either! I had a 36 week growth scan and asked then, and he wasn't engaged.

I didn't have another MW app until Friday just gone and because of other things I started to cry! My MW was a lot nicer to me then and explained where she thought LO was lying and that I was 3/5ths engaged. She usually just prodded me and said nothing!

It seems crying is the way forward!

How do they tell? Is it feeling the head through your tummy, or do they have to do an internal?

hehe maybe I should try that one! I seriously feel like baby could near fall out of me now and I honestly think she is starting to engage... I didn't think to ask during the scan but I have one next week again, so maybe I can find out I have a biophysical profile tomorrow morning and if I want I can see an OB in the afternoon... I go weekly for ultrasounds or biophysical, and weekly/biweekly to the OB, I should know something already hahahaha

I see them so much now they all know my friends names, and my son haha

I just read this, had a look through my notes, and notices my MW wrote I am 3/5 engaged! So you're not alone, I wasn't told anything either!

I've seen a few different midwives and they all seem to have different times to start checking for engagement. I think I was checked at 31 weeks but not at 34 or something like that.

Oh, and they don't normally tell you, or explain what it means, just write it in your notes, I always get mine out again when I get home to check what they have written!
