How common is Jasper?

Do you know of any? I really want this name but I don't want something super common. Rory has gotten really common and I kind of wish I'd chosen something more unusual.

I don't know anyone named Jasper... just my friend's dog. I'm in the US though... maybe it's more common in the UK.

I just checked a gov website that said in 2000 it ranked #592 and now in 2013 it ranked #248. So it's been steadily increasing but still quite uncommon.

I kind of like it, it's cool!

Yeah I didn't realise it was so popular for girls in the US! I don't even like unisex names It's still very much a boy's name here luckily.

Just for the record, I've only known of one little girl named Rory too. And her name may have been Aurora (not sure). It's not very common in my area

I don't know anyone else with it, but our little boy is going to be called Jasper, I'm due in two weeks.

I don't know any Jaspers and I'm thinking of having it if we have a third boy. I like unusual names too. I named my eldest Noah when there were hardly any and then the name exploded in popularity

I don't know any Jaspers, but I think it's impossible to tell what's going to be popular.

When we picked Micah's name I had never heard of another Micah 'in real life', but since having him we've met several! There's a Micah in the swimming class before ours, there's another one at our library group, and I've heard at least 3 mums out and about calling 'Micah' to their sons. I still love his name though, I guess it's flattering that others like the name!

I don't know any Jaspers! Rory isn't common here, I only know my Rory, your Rory and 1 other. I didn't know it could even be a girls name lol! Xx

My cousin just named her baby boy Jasper. But prior to that, I was not aware of any Jaspers. I think its still fairly uncommon

I knew of a few born around the time of the twilight hype... but ive not known of any since i think its a lovely name and also i dont know any Rory`s x

I work in a primary school and I've never come across a Rory or a Jasper where we are!
