Isn't it amazing everything we have to go through for our BFP, and others just get pregnant instantly? I'll never understand it.
guess my PCOS with irregular periods just knocks me out of the trial
anyway, have an appt with a clinic on 11/15!!

Thanks! I am excited and terrified at the same time! Excited for a chance and taking a step forward, terrified = finances. I am afraid and pretty sure my insurance won't cover a single thing! Which stinks, coz otherwise it's a great insurance and I pay quite a lot for it! Florida... And a small employer. No way around it for now. So I am debating credit cards, or loans, probably not my savings... I am thinking, depending on the tests they might order, IUI won't be such an issue, but IVF for sure. And my hubbie said one IVF only!
Side note: I was sitting at a lunch table with a few coworkers and they were talking about pregnancy tests and how awkward it was to use it and stuff, like one got pregnant on birth control. And just in general, how terrifying would it be if it positive. Some of them know my issues, but one did not, so I did not say anything. Ugh.
I definitely know what you mean. Some women taking being able to get pregnant so easily for granted! It kinds of makes you want to cringe. But I was having a talk with my friends about this - and I guess everyone has that thing. That thing that happens so easily for them that they take it for granted. I am not sure what mine is - but I am sure I have one - that makes others resent me for it. But having something be so precious be that thing that is out of reach for you - can be devastating. I am just hoping to be pregnant someday. I don't really care when or how, but I just want it to happen. I really hope I am able to get pregnant out of this clinical trial. This was such a godsend for me. I am not sure what excluded some of you ladies but there are lots of women who graduated the trial with PCOS. But either way, I will keep you all posted. My first monitoring visit is tomorrow and I am doing that locally. My insurance covers that as well. And I was actually able to get insurance to cover my meds too. I will know by Saturday if I am all set to start stims are if I have to stay on the Lupron for a little while longer.
Hi ladies, I could do with an assisted conception knowledgeable-lady opinion please. We've taken 15 months to get preg and finally, against all odds were successful (i have neen diagnosed as premature ovarian depletion @ < 5% chance).
We had a chemical in june, mc 2 nights ago @ 9 weeks and now he wants to try again, i think try for a month or 2 but get on the ivf wait list (2-3 mnths long). With this diagnosis would you just continue trying or fork out the $8000 to get some eggies frozen + a decent chance at conception without waiting too long? I'm getting anxious as the clock ticks and he's very hopeful.
Thank you kindly in advance for your advice.

Good luck! I really hope this trial works for you, and that is awesome that your insurance is covering your meds!
I agree with pilot. If your RE finds no issues with you and the only issues is hubby's swimmers, you may want to try IUI first. I am sure if you absolutely insist on IVF immediately, as a paying patient, your dr will likely honor your wishes. But with IUI, if they don't find any issues with you, you really don't even have to do meds. But even if you do, it is such a low dose. With IVF there is soooo much medication and so much invasiveness with the procedure. The retrieval and injections alone is a lot. But of course us who have no other choice will do what it takes.
With the IUI you have two things working for you - the washing will separate the good guys from the bad guys. Then too, they will put them directly into the uterine cavity, and sometimes are able to get them right near the fallopian tube. This basically give the swimmers the best shot at making it - and in reality, you really only need one good one. I would do 2-3 cycles of IUI before trying IVF if I were you.

Thank you for the info! I guess I'm just scared/pessimistic about IUI. I know I shouldn't be, because it does work for some ladies- I'm just so discouraged because I feel like I've already exhausted every option to get a natural BFP on my own (with everything in the history of the internet haha: lol) for nearly two years now and nothing has happened. I just don't feel like I'm EVER going to get a BFP. I guess I'm having one of those moments. Has anyone else had IUI yet?
