How did you get started on IUI/IVF? HELP

Yes, the monitoring and the control has been nice. I have never ovulated without the trigger. I have my blood test today. I am sure it will be another BFN. Not sure what we are going to do this next cycle which will probably be here tomorrow.

:hugs::hugs::hugs: I have to go in for mine on Wednesday and I'm absolutely dreading it! It's so much worse to get a BFN that way - over the phone. ugh. I'm thinking I might just test at home the day before and then call and tell them I don't want to bother going in for it. Good luck to you though Karen. Hopefully you won't have to worry about next cycle.

Thinking about you, Karen! I feel completely discouraged anymore, as it sounds like you are, too. At this point I don't think I'll ever see two lines or hear that I'm pregnant to be honest. My DH is constantly optimistic about it, and it nearly kills me. I've read so much online, and I know the truth about so many of these procedures and medications. I guess it doesn't help either that its been two years and we're STILL not pregnant.

How do you both cope (or attempt to :)) with all of this? I try to keep myself busy, but I find myself getting SO emotional randomly at the tiniest of things. Like yesterday, watching Christmas movies and getting on facebook so see all of these bumps. It was my hope I would be pregnant this Christmas, and I'm obviously not. UGH. It ended up with me having a meltdown. I know theres still a month left, but we go to the RE next Wednesday and I have a feeling its going to be a long process.

Well the knowledge that even if I do get pregnant beyond all odds and then m/c again is too much. I was so pleased to be pregnant and having a first baby before I turn 38 and now that's impossible. I've had a major breakdown the past two days while on vacation. Barricaded myself in the bedroom, eyes puffy, cancelled myself off all the midwife wait lists and just got the refund email for the classes I had booked. It's all too much to be lead to believe your preggers and have it snatched away. Life is not fair.

I am so, so sorry. Reading that post just broke my heart. I know everyone constantly says, "don't give up", or "it will happen when its supposed to". I feel like both of those things are completely BS especially when we know the reality of the situation.

I'm sorry that you are on vacation and have to go through all of this, it makes me feel awful for you. I'm here if you need to vent!!

Looks like we're all having one of those "why me?" days. I hate to admit it but I'm a little glad for the company at the moment bc I'm really feeling off my rocker today. I knew it would be tough for me to do the IUI purely bc it builds it all up even more than normal emotionally. I live in dread of disappointment these days.

When I have myself together I try to think of it this way. The idea of "fairness" in life is a fallacy. Life is just chaos. This is the hand I'm dealt. Some people have other ones but that has nothing to do with me. I can only live my own life and make the best of it. For me it becomes difficult to fully live in my own life and be present in it when being so wrapped up in TTC. I have to consciously remind myself to snap back into things.

But sometimes we all just need :hugs: and a glass of wine.

I agree! I'm very grateful that I have you ladies here, because even though this journey sucks, it helps knowing that I have the support of others going through the same thing. That wine doesn't sound bad right now about now, especially after getting on facebook and seeing more pregnancy announcements today! UGH! The life of an infertile TTC'er. :dohh::dohh::dohh:

:dohh: Unsubscribe without prejudice!!

Whenever I have to see one of the 'baby people' I just take a quick peek at their fb just to make sure I didn't miss anything that they might bring up. 99% of the time I haven't missed a damn thing other than the onslaught of baby photos and inane baby related status updates.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! It makes me feel really guilty at times because I don't want to be *that* person who is bitter. Its not that I'm not happy for those people because I am, I just don't want it rubbed in my face even though they aren't doing it intentionally.

Have you ladies thought about what you'll post once you are pregnant? Do you think you'll resist from posting bump pictures on fb? I think I'm going to use my blog to document my pregnancy, since I'm documenting our IF journey on it anyway.

Once you have had your tests done they will stick you on the list granted your husband is suitable for Ivf. If not they will still put you on list but also on the list for ICSI too. The wait is around 18 months in the uk. But that it dated from your first appointment with the fertility clinic.

(This is if its nhs)

i fully agree with the glass of wine & hugs, sending you both Canadian bear hugs right now & clinks to this year/next years successes.

I'm not posting on FB anything about being preggers. Made this decision a whe ago. We'll be announcing with sweet little cards (I'm a graphic designer) once the threat of mc is doubly gone (3rd tri I'm thinking?)
Also, i don't want to reward people who don't really keep up with us with the info. Most of the ppl who care about us check in from time to time. This way I'm not flaunting to those girls in my infertile position and we're still including our friends & family in the news the old fashioned way.
Thanks for being there, thanks fir being a friend even though it's through wires, screens & electricity. The kindness of others always helps mend a broken spirit!

I am greatful to have you girls too. I think the only thing that keeps me going is that God told me it would happen some day. I have no idea when that will be, and if it isn't by the end of the year I don't know how I will keep trying. I had my blood test yesterday at 830 am and was told I would receive a call after 2 pm. :witch: arrived at noon. Not the best day.

Ach! Sorry to hear that hun. I had a BFN on a HPT this morning so I'm with ya.

To make things worse, DH told me this morning that he's away on business for 2 days next month and wouldn't you know it - it's looking like it'll be exactly when I ovulate. OF COURSE IT IS! Any hope (remote as it may be) of getting a BFP before xmas this year is pretty well out the window. :(

I'm SO sorry, ladies. I am to the point that I think I'll never see those two lines show up on a test! Thinking about you both.

I had my first Christmas related meltdown already. We were watching Christmas movies the other day and I started getting so emotional. I honestly thought, hoped, and prayed we would have a BFP before Christmas. AF is supposed to show next weekend, which thankfully is three days after our appt. with the RE. The only thing I'm hoping for at this point is for the RE to get things going on our next cycle. I cant WAIT until next Wednesday!

I am sorry. That is so frustrating. There is no way he can move his trip a day or two?

I can't wait for you! I hope it goes well!

:hugs: sorry for the meltdowns, BFN's and AF to you ladies. That's terrible that your hubbie has to go away!! Jump that man before he leaves and right when he gets back. At the very least he'll know he's very loved and was missed :winkwink:

I too can't wait to get on with it, get this cycle going. Will I even ovulate after a mc? Since we started using soft cups I seemed to get pregnant ever second month even if it was a chemical & mc. :spermy: seemed to meet egg and out of 15 months of nothing previous, this was encouraging. So I will try again. Scan next Monday when I get home to make sure all is clear and then away we go. If nothing happens Nov/Dec they said I can do IVF so I'm counting on something happening soon. I'm so impatient but my time is running out.

Thanks ladies. He's going to try to change it to the next week but it's looking like it'll be difficult to do that. I'm hoping my AF stays away for a few extra days bc that might put us in the clear. You're right 2have4kids - he does deserve some lovin. He's a good one.

I've heard you can be a lil extra fertile after a mc so lot's of :dust: to you this cycle!! I gotta pick up some of those softcups. We can use any edge we can get.
