Hi ladies, I am puting this here because I assume you had to dry your milk up. so my story is i stoped pumping about a month ago ( i was an exclusive pumper my daughter is 7 months old and now on formula ( and freezer stock of bm) i am due to have another baby in 6 months. I had a huge oversupply with my daughter to the extreeme i was pumping 30 ounces in 20 minutes if i didnt pump at night so you can see why i want to dry up completly so i can start from fresh with the new baby in attempts to breastfeed. i always get lumps around my nipple of trapped milk so today i pressed it and after all this time it is still squirting straight out of 2 holes lol

Please soemone will this stop completly??? how do i dry it up all the way???

I think you can get medication from the doctor that stops your milk production, but I have no idea if its safe to take in pregnancy. xxx

thanks skunk i will have to inquire because im super scared that il end up with a load of milk when this baby comes and feeding a baby with an oversupply and toungetie was a night mare hence the pumping so i really hope to just have a normal supply ( will get tounge tie cut if this baby has it but didnt find it till 3 months with daughter)

is there no old wive tale stuff to try i did try the cabage leaves that did help with engorgment but i cant do it now the smell with make me puke! lol xx

With DD1 I was still breastfeeding her until I was 5 months pregnant with DD2. After a year it was only at bedtime though and Im pretty sure that once we conceived my milk dried itself up or turned into collostrum, as when I stopped breastfeeding I didnt once get engorged and when I squeezed my boobs nothing came out, so she must have just been comfort sucking! I didnt breastfeed DD2 and was advised to just wear a well fitted bra and let my milk dry up naturally. I had a few days of tender uncomfortable breasts when my milk came in, but then they went down and my milk dried up fully over the following couple of weeks.
Im pretty sure that your milk will revert back to collostrum in the 3rd trimester, but no harm in seeing your GP to see if they can help/advise. xx

my gp are useless hun they dont know anything about breastfeeding ( sounds strange but they dont lol) and wow gosh i couldnt imagine my daughter being on my nipples right now she still grabs the hell out of them though! ( this is gross) but i tried it and it tastes sooo salty so i dont think its even drinkable milk anyway lol so i probs wont be squirting it over my daughters cereal lol. il try the fitted bra but i hate wearing a bra at home lol . thank u xx

Hey congrats on your pregnancy! That's wonderful news!

As for he milk drying up - it was about 2 months for mine to fully stop. I could still squeeze out a bit for quite a while. I don't have any tips though, sorry. I have heard of people who have previously breastfed babies start to produce milk earlier in subsequent pregnancies so I don't know if your supply would totally dry up ... sorry. Does your MW or HV have any advice?

hi thanks for answering and thank you for the congrats hun. my hv hasnt got a clue lol and i havent asked my midwife good idea il text her tomorow thank you xx
