How do you celebrate the holidays ?

I thought it would be interesting to find out how everyone celebrates the season...

Every year I gather everone together on Christmas eve and we attend church service then we all pile into the car and travel around looking at all the Christmas lights...then we head home for hot chocolate and everyone gets to open one gift ( which is a new pair of P.J's to wear ) then we watch the Christmas classic " It's a wonderful life " . I am always the first one up on Christmas morning and I make sticky buns for breakfast then we open gifts ..I love Christmas

i dont know what we'll do this year its my first year being a mummy (o i could just cry with happiness at the thought) but we've decided our christmas film will be Elf xx

I've kept the French traditions for my family. We eat our turkey on christmas eve, we'll watch the snowman before bedtime and my 2 babies will get new pjs. Then, no cooking on xmas day, just opening presents, playing and eating. We used to visit oh family but i'm quite keen this year on staying all together at home for the day.

Well this is the first year in my own home so I want it to be a special one.

On Christmas Eve we are all going to my sisters house, we spend the evening there with food (no meat on Christmas Eve for Catholics) drinks, family, friends and lots of laughter.
Christmas Day morning I am gonna let Chloe and Jaycee open their stocking fillers, give them their breakfast (probably bacon sarnie or a bun cake) we will then sit down and all open our gifts, then we will get dressed and go to OH mums house to spend the morning with them and his sister, nephew and BIL and we open gifts, have bucks fizz and more food. Then at around 1pm we go to my mum and dads (lives 2 roads from OH mum and dad) There is about 13 of us at my mum and dads, we eat and then open our gifts and then we all pile into the living room where we watch TV, play board games and drink til we are all merry! Lol. All the little ones will be in bed.. Ahhh I cant wait

Every year myself, DH, (& now Finley) My sister, BIL & my 2 nieces stay at my parents house, from the day we all finish work till the day before we go back to work
We eat, drink, play games & watch films x
We have party food on christmas eve night, & the girls go on the norad website to track santa, then they put out their mince pie & milk for santa & a carrot & water for rudolph then off to bed.
Christmas day we all get up about 7am & come down stairs - my dad leading the way & my dad looks through the living room door a little & then tells us santa hasnt been (he's said this every single year since me & my sister were kids lol) then we all rush in & find our pile of presents & then the girls open theirs first taking it in turns & looking at each present instead of rushing through it all & not taking any notice, then the adults open theirs while the kids play with their toys.
The we all go to my grandads house to meet up with my aunt, uncle & 2 cousins, My older cousin her husband & her 2 girls then we all open more gifts & then DH & I go to his parents house give out our gifts (& get nothing back btw ) & then back to my mum's to have dinner & christmas cake & christmas pudding.
At night we'll play games eat more food & chocolate & drink while the kids are in bed x
Boxing day we have jacket potatoes salad & left over turkey & then we go for a walk at a country park then home to eat more & watch films x

thats an essay lol x
Same every year & I wouldnt change it for the world x Thats what christmas is about for me - Being with the 8 people I love most in the world x

Christmas Eve I'm do 2 Christmas services for children - one at 4pm is a Christingle and one at 6.30 is a nativity. Then my brother and his boyfriend are arriving from Cambridge and we're going to the pub with my parents and some friends. Then back to Church for midnight service.
We'll sleep at our house so DH can see his Mum at church on Christmas morning. Chocolate and bacon butties for breakfast! After Church we'll go to my parents for Christmas lunch and spend the afternoon watching tv and playing games. We'll stay over there, have a full English & then go to DH's auntie's for Boxing Day - 19 of us squashed into a small house makes for a fun & noisy day complete with secret Santa & a family quiz!
Hopefully by next Christmas things will be different as we'll have a LO of our own to consider!

Maccy - Its fab, people are sometimes shocked that we spend so long at my parents but we all get on so well so why not plus it means my mum & dad get to see their grandkids opening their presents on christmas morning x

Well every year we normally go to my mums but I am breaking tradition this year, I have decided we are going to stay home xmas day!

Anyway Christmas eve we go to OH's mums in the day and the kids have a party (OH's bro and sister are age 4 and 6 so same as my 2- They are all so close so thats nice) We eat loads, relax, have some drinks etc, we normally take the kids to a garden centre or for a walk to see the lights.
We normally get home from his mums early evening and then we open our christmas eve box filled with new Pjs, Christmas bubble bath, christmas film, some christmas snacks and a christmas story lol. We bath the kids, watch film, have story and maybe another walk to look at lights and then bed. Oh they leave out stuff for santa first

In the evening we have our friends over for drinks and munch for a few hours. They go home about 11 and I bring the pressies downstairs, we finish wrapping any extras and then settle down for some time together.

Christmas morning the kids will get up about 8, Open stockings and My Oh normally makes us some brekkie and bucks fizz lol. The kids then dive into the pressies and I open some of mine, take some photos, open toys etc

Normally we go to my mums but staying here this year so I will do xmas dinner for about 1-2pm (cant wait to set the table all nice) After dinner the kids will play again and we will walk the dogs in the new forest (lucky its only across the road)
My mum and dad will come over about 3.30pm for a few hours, give the kids pressies, have some snacks and some drinks. At about 5ish my mum will go and OHs dad and his partner come over for the evening, we play some games, put the kids to bed, have some chat and drink and then go to bed!
Boxing day we will be at my mums with my sisters and Nan, we have bubble and squeek and cold meats, some small pressies and just see the family xxx
