How long have you had to plan your wedding?

We got engaged in April 2008 and we're getting married September 2010 so about 2 1/2 years. Our wedding is costing aroung £5-£6k so you'll have plenty of time to save for the wedding of your dreams (if your paying that is) xx

We had 18 months from deciding to get married but we couldn't book the Registrar until a year to the day, so we didn't make any actual bookings for suppliers until exactly a year in advance. I don't think I could've coped with waiting any longer though, it seemed to take forever to arrive!

For our original plans we booked everything 18 months in advance. For our revised plans we had 6 weeks :headspin:and booked everything in 4 hours :smug:

Wow, i love love love this forum lol. I wish I was getting married again. We got engaged in Novemeber 02 and were married by July 03. I'd love to renew our vows again around our 10 year anniversary but Hubby said NOOOOOO!! :growlmad: xx

10 weeks! We got engaged in Sep 04 and married in Nov04. My mum was terminally ill and we wanted o get married before she was too ill to be there. However, it would have been a quick engagement even if that hadn't been the case.

It was loads of time! We got married in Edinburgh, had a meal for about 25 and then a reception for about 100. The only problem was discovering that the band thought they had a booking for Nov 05! Got it all sorted though.

we got engaged nov 28th 08 and married december 12th 09

technically it will be just over 2 years, as we got engaged on Feb 29th 2008, but realistically we did nothing whatsoever about anything. We had a vague date of "2010", when that was a long time away. Then I got pregnant and I thought 2010 is out of the window. Our son was born August 2009.

then we were planning the christening and for various reasons I started talking out loud to my fiance about getting married at the same time. Never really thought it was an option, not seriously. Turns out it is, fiance has looked into it, we can get the church we want and the reception venue, vicar has agreed, and it's all but booked - nine weeks away. March 12th, wedding & baptism.

NINE WEEKS to do it all (incuding lose 2 stone for me). I'm sure we can do it. :D I'm daunted about finding a dress, but that's about all.

We arranged our wedding in just under 4 weeks, and I was 32 weeks pregnant when we married. Wanting a small simple affair, the short timescale it made it less of a battle with the family to get something near to what I wanted. We had an afternoon sitdown meal for 34, and no evening do. I was always adamant that I didn't want my wedding to turn into a piss-up, so was glad to have pregnancy as the excuse for making it happen without a big row :happydance:!
