I want 4. my OH, who I want there all of the time. the other 3 are my mum, my mil and my nana, who i'd want to kind of rotate - have 1 of them in at a time while the other 2 sit outside.

each of them will bring a different thing to my labour and i just really wouldnt be happy giving birth without them all there. only thing is I'm worried the hospital wont allow it, but its not like i want them all there at the same time, down at the business area staring at my foof! im quite happy for my mum to be in the room for an hour, then maybe have my nana in for a bit and then my MIL.

anyone know NHS's policy on this? does it depend on the individual hospital?

I think it depends on the hospital, I think they may be okay as long as they rotate who is in the room

I agree it might depend on the hospital. I had two birth partners xx

i think it'll depend on the hospital but i think aslong as you only have 2 in at a time and they are not swapping at cruital times then you'll be ok. i watched OBEM and the midwife relaxed the rules and let 3 in.

thanks girls. I have a mw app on Monday so will ask her what the rules are for my hospital! xx

yep depends on hospitals and what type of birth, a birthing centre will be more relaxed than a consultant led area. Good luck x

at our hospital you are only allowed 2 people in with you x

yeah I only want 2 in at a time, so that's fine with me, but basically want to know if the other 2 can sit outside and occasionally have 1 swap over (obv not at crucial times etc) fingers crossed I'm allowed x

Yes it does vary per hospital. Speak with your midwife about it, if they're rotating they might be okay with it. You'll have a fight with who gets to be there when you're actually at the point of delivering though!!
