How many wks pg were you when your C was scheduled?

I inquired as to when my csect would be scheduled. My hosp doesn't do vbac, so it's the only option for me. I'm fine with it.

He said around 30 weeks we can plan the csect date.

Is this the average time to schedule a csect? My first was an emergency c.

I'm tryin to plan ahead... bills, when i can tell work i'll be leaving, and when vacation time can be put in for both of us.

30 wks doesn't seem like too much longer to wait to find out. Hope i can be patient til then

Hiya, I only found at at my 36 week appt when it would be- 39 weeks! I think it's done en as they say there's no difference between a baby born at 39 or 40 and they want to prevent you going into labour before that date x

He did already mention at my 19 wk appt that it would be done a week before the due date. I was just hoping to confirm that Oct 26th date.

Glad I wont have to wait til 36 wks to find out!! I'm hoping to be out of work by then....they'd def need to know before I leave!

Around here, c-sections are usually done between in the 38th or 39th week, unless there's a reason to schedule it earlier. My neighbour is in the third trimester and because of a problem she's having this time around, she'll be having her c-section at 36+4 days.

At 35 weeks I was given the go ahead from my OB as he liased with my GP and psychiatrist but then two weeks later the mild pre eclampsia got severe and I had to have an emcs but yeah 35 weeks is standard I think

I'm from the US. Sounds like in UK the dcs wait until later to schedule the csect. Wondering now if it's just my dc that will schedule my C when i go in for my 30 wk appt.

I'm in the US - I've known (and made it clear to doctors) I wanted to schedule a c-section since the beginning, and they only vaguely started talking to me about scheduling at 32 weeks. By the next appt (34 wks) DH and I had picked a date... and it was already booked!!
Very disappointed. If I had known there was any chance of them booking up, I would have asked to schedule it much earlier.
So if there's something specific you have in mind (we were trying to maximize paternity leave time) - I'd book it as soon as possible (you can always cancel/rebook, at least at my hospital). If you're more flexible on the date, I guess there's no harm in waiting.

One week before my due date would actually work out perfect for us, and def want to bring it up early, and book our day! It's on a friday, so dh can either work a full or half day...we could have the csect done later in the day.afternoon or later i'm hoping for. He has off weekends, so he can stay in the hospital with me for the three days they'll keep me. The inlaws don't have work either, and can take care of our 3 yr old for those 4 days as well. We'd be out by Mon, which would be the start of dh's vacation! I'm just in a really planning mood! just want everything to work out perfectly!

Although if she decides to start coming sooner than 39 wks, she'll mess up our plans! lol! His job would still be flexible enough to give him his vacation week earlier if he needed to! I'll be done with work at 36 weeks, so don't matter on my end.

39 weeks where I am from is when you usually get c-sections done, and they the date/time is set usually a month before, so around 34-36 weeks.

38+5, as I was running out of amniotic fluid and my baby-girl was still high. I wanted a vaginal birth instead, but now all I care about is that I have my precious little jewel healthy and strong with me.

Mine was talked about with my first at 13 weeks because I had complete previa...scheduled for 38 weeks, but he came 2 days before (water broke, still had section). My second was talked about at first appointment....sceduled for 38 weeks, but I went into labour at 37 weeks. Third, talked about first appointment, went into labour at 32 weeks....stopped. Scheduled for 37 weeks, cancelled (hospital too busy). Finally had one 'planned' section at 38 weeks. Don't remember exactly when the confirmed the dates....but, yes, it was later pregnancy...def over 30 weeks.

So my final answer is - I was 34 weeks and 5 days when it was scheduled
And it was scheduled for 39 weeks 2 days - So her tentative birthday (assuming she doesn't decide to make an early appearance, or my previa doesn't get any worse) is Friday, August 17th
So excited! And that also means I have less than a month to go!

As the title asks.. when was your c scheduled?

There is a wide range of answers, so guess it just depends on your dc, and how your pg is going. I'll find out in about 5 weeks the scheduled date for our C.
