Hi ladies,
My LO pretty much eats at 3, 7,11,3,7,11 and has been doing so since he was about a month old. After talking to some other mums this morning their babies are only having 4 or 5 bottles a day as appose to 6... my LO is also having 8oz bottles at every feed. Should I be thinking about dropping a bottle and if so how? The 11pm is a dream feed so I wonder if I should just drop it and see what happens but am worried he'll then just wake up more in the night? Someone else suggested just offering cooled boiled water instead of a feed in the night and see what he does.Any advice, what does your LO do?

I'd say if he's taking it, and keeping it down, then he's needing it! Some babies just eat more than others, the same way some adults do :) If he takes the full bottle at his dreamfeed, then I don't know if I'd recommend offering water instead, as it sounds like he's not just taking it for comfort (if you know what I mean!).

I appreciate that's probably not much help when you're knackered from all the night feeds!

Lol thanks! Im not knackered actually, Im really happy with the way things are, he drinks his bottle so quickly and goes straight back to sleep so its no bother! Just seems like every other baby is STTN but I dont think thats really the case!x

My LO is feeding at least 6 times a day at similar times to yours, I just feed on demand and he seems to have got into his own routine. He was taking about 6oz per feed but this has changed now and he is eating less (think due to growth slowing down and teething).
However, last night out of the blue he fed at 4.30pm, 12.30 and woke up at 5.30 :) I was really pleased. Tonight might be different but hopefully he has just dropped a feed himself or going that bit longer. :flower:

my daughter is 3 months old. she sleeps thru the night from about 10pm till 8.30, when she has her first feed. she then has one every 2 hours till bedtime, if she has a long nap she might miss a feed. she has about 160ml a feed.

i have startd her on hungry baby milk as worried she is eating too much!

Ds has 5oz, he's not quite 3m yet but has 5oz at (approx) 1, 4, 8, 10, 2 & 6. Perhaps that's why he doesn't sleep at night because he mainly eats on a morning? Hmm I've never thought of it like that before! *lightbulb moment!*

I read a book that suggested you get most of your feeds between 7am and 7pm and that way they can last through the night, LO has been sleeping through since 8 weeks. she has between 5 and 6 oz at 7,10,2 then we do a split feed so she has 5oz at 5 and then another 4oz at 7, then sleeps till 10 when she has 5-6oz and sleeps through till morning.
I'd say if you are happy with it then don't change it! xxx

My dd is 10 weeks and has 5-6oz at 6.30,9.30,1,4,7 & 9 then sleeps through until 6 again. So she has 6 bottles a day. I find that when she has her last two feeds closer together she sleeps for longer on a night x
