How much maternity leave will you get/take?

Being pregnant has already made me so grateful to have our health care system in Canada. I went back to the dr today (third time in a month), and has to pay most of my prescription he have me for this cough, but didn't have to pay for any of my visits or sick notes for work or anything like that.

I'm in Canada too. I'm taking my full year off, and then maybe an extra 6 months. The daycare I want him to go to starts at 18 months and he's already on the waiting list. I can't see myself putting him in daycare before that so I can go back to work. Luckily enough I work for my father in his law office so he would hold my position for me.
