Hi, I started weaning my 5 month old around 3-4 weeks ago for several reasons. It's the best thing we did I think, and he totally loves his food! I'm just worried he is dropping too much milk. He was drinking 35-40oz a day before weaning, he is now taking around 26-30oz. During the day he also eats 3 meals, the first being baby porridge (gluten free), then for lunch it's 4 veg cubes followed by a 50g yoghurt, and then for tea he has a fruit pot at the minute (90-100g I think).
Is this ok? I know every baby is different, but I know milk should still be his first source of food and at the moment, food is just about textures and tastes. I'm currently trying to get rid of his night bottle, too, by reducing it every night, with the aim he takes on slightly more during the day.
Any advice would be gratefully received, but if you don't agree with weaning before 6 months, I'd rather you kept that to yourselves - sorry if that sounds rude, it really isn't intended that way!
