How old & how often does your LO wake up in he night?

My LO has been sleeping through the night since he was about 8-9 weeks and he still does at almost 4. We did have a little phase when he was just over 2 were he was having a lot of nighmares and refused to sleep in his own room, we moved his little toddler bed into our room and he was fine, I sat with him until he was asleep and then that was him for the night, he moved back into his own bedroom in the summer there, so he was in our room for about 1 year. Now he will only wake if he needs the loo or if he has had a nighmare.

Ruby is 2 and occasionally cries in the night, we just go in and reassure / find dummies that she's lost, although it isn't often for dummies. It's by no means every night, more like a couple of times a week, sometimes not even that. She hasn't wanted feeding in the night since she was 5 weeks old. Unusual I know!

Typically once at about 5 am she wants milk. So I'm up less than 30 secs a night taking it to her !

It depends in our house! Tegan started sleeping through at 12 weeks, now it's dependant on what's happened in the day.

I thought it was related to how many naps she'd had, but it's not. Yesterday we let her walk into town and in a few shops and she had a play date, no nap and she was a bit grouchy but went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 8am.

Two days before she went to bed at 7 as she was shattered and she woke up at 4am until 6am and then went back to sleep until 9am! There was no reason behind it, we gave her juice, and she asked for a banana so she had one and that made no difference, gave her calpol in case it was her teeth but that didn't settle her, took about an hour of stories to calm her down and I slept on her floor (hard at 23 weeks pregnant!)

I work 12 hour days and we think it might be a bit of separation anxiety, I'm off work for 2 weeks now so we'll see how she goes.

It is frustrating when we don't know why she's waking up and we're trying to get to the bottom of it!

We've tried pick up and put down, returning her to bed, controlled crying etc.... and nothing seems to work. We're now trying to tire her out in the day more in case that's why she's not sleeping.

Gonna be an interesting 2 weeks!

Alice is 2, and generally stirs 2or 3 times a night. She doesn't really wake up though, as I nurse her straight back to sleep.

I haven't slept through the night since July 2009

Bella will wake maybe once a night, usually when we come to be she'll come into our bed and she'll be straight back to sleep. She occasionally wakes as she;s lost her dummy but usually she'll settle again within 30 seconds.

Bella is 19 months.

My eldest has slept through only for the last 5 months (she recently turned 4) My 7 month old wakes about 3x a night so that means I haven't really slept through the night myself since September 2007!

Id say LO wakes 2-3 times, has a chatter then resettles herself. Could be more but I don't know because I'm alseep! She very very rarely needs me to go to her.

LO is 15 months, goes to bed at 630, wakes at least 4 times, comes in with us at about 3am then wakes for the day at 430-5am!!! She's always been a terrible sleeper-only naps once during the day for 30 mins too!

:haha: Seriously I don't know how she functions in the day - or me for that matter! I can see with next baby it being a case of 4 in a bed :dohh:

Stephen usually sstn, has done since around 6 months. He usually only wakes in the night if he's poorly, or teething. He's been teething for the last 2 weeks and had an ear infection so he's been sleeping in with me for the last 2 weeks. Hopefully he feels better soon, I feel like a zombie!

My son slept through the night at around 4/5 months. Then at 7 months he stopped sleeping through the night and would wake up once or twice. I remember though that around 4/5 months he was also going to bed at 5:30 and sleeping straight through til 7:30 am!

So at 7 months he started waking up in the night again. And it got worse and worse til at about 9 months he was waking up around every half hour/hour. At 13 months he stopped that but was still waking up around twice a night. He did this until he was 21/22 months when he moved into a bed. He generally sleeps through now. But maybe 50% of the time he'll wake up and come in with me.

Isla has been sleeping through the night for about 6 months now and she is 15 months now. She only wakes when she is sick or teething but always passes again.

Oh My , Hannah is 17 months and has never slept well. She wont go to bed till between 10:30 and 12 am . And once shes finally asleep she wakes about 4 times a night. She screams everytime untill I go in and rub her back. Sometimes that could take a good 30-45 minutes. Last night she woke up at 12:30 am, 2:45 and then again at 3:30.... Then she woke up in the morning at about 7 30. I'm so tired.

Megan slept through almost every night once we did cc at 13 months... Until 18 months. Then it's on again off again. She goes through spurts of sleeping great (sometimes for weeks) and nights where she will be awake for hours either in the middle of the night or can't fall asleep at night. Example- She will have like 4-5 nights of sleeping through and I hear her only once typically when we go to bed. Then the next night she will be awake in her crib for hours before falling asleep and then she gets overtired and the next few nights suffer as well. Or she will wake up and be giggly at 3am and not fall back asleep til 5. Nothing I do matters.. If I go in or not she still takes that long to fall asleep. Rarely she wakes crying wanting me but it happens once in a while and I wonder if it's more separation anxiety those times. Once in a great while she is awake and annoyed at her blankets not being right so I go in and help her fix them and she falls right back asleep.

Megan is a light sleeper and I wonder if that is some of her sleep issues. That and she's very sensitive and has been since a baby. So I think if she's had too exciting of day she has a hard time shutting it off. She's also a horrible teether. I think developmental growth spurts are a major time when she has problems sleeping through.

I always think I must be doing something wrong when she isn't sleeping well.... But then all of a sudden she will sleep through without a peep for weeks.... And I didn't change a thing!

Zander sleeps through the night most nights but we are getting him in his own bed now and he goes down at around 9pm and either gets up anywhere between 12 and 3 wanting in with us and milk or he will sleep til about 6 then he will get milk and lay down with me a few more hours after I get Jacob on the school bus at 6:30 then he normally wakes around 9-10 in the morning with no naps in the daytime!
