how to ask for clomid/will I get it?

Basically after TTC for nearly 2 years im off to doc tomoz to ask for help and to be put on clomid. Years ago i had a scan/bloodwork due to not having any periods or just one a month, bloods where normal but there was some cysts on the one side, they said to ttc naturally for a yr, well didnt get preg so went back he then said said try for another year as u r young, well 2 years is up, so gona ask for clomid, do u think i will get it? my last period was in feb, will he give me anything to bring a period on, also my hubby has been tested in the past and is fine.

I think they would want to figure out what the issue actually is, as opposed to giving you a med that may not address the problem. I went to my doc who did blood test/ultrasound first and then referred me to a fs. My appt is on Thursday, but from the paperwork I was sent it seems like we will be getting LOTS of tests before any treatment plan is started. I have been ttc over 2 years also. I'm not sure how things will work for you, just sharing what I know is coming in my situation. Good luck with the appointment

Did he/she diagnose you with PCOS yet?

Since you have a problem with not having a period they need to put you on something to regulate it such as metformin. Then you can figure out your cycle length and when you ovulate. If there were to give you Clomid now, you'd have to take an OPk test everyday to see if you ovulate at all..

I believe they would have to figure out your diagnosis before they see if you need Clomid. Clomid is just an ovulation enhancer. If you have problems ovulating then that's when you'll be put on it.
