I usually use liquid eyeliner because I get so frustrated with pencils breaking and breaking and breaking when I sharpen them. I like both, but I find that with liquid I sometimes muck it up and it is sooo much easier to muck up (and when I'm getting ready for work in the morning it's not so fun lol)

I have just got a pencil again, with high hopes for it not breaking, and put it in the freezer overnight as had heard this can stop it breaking. Nope. Still broke twice as I tried to sharpen it.

Does anybody have any good tips for not having it break? I'm not buying totally cheap ones, but in New Zealand makeup is ridiculously overpriced (almost $25 for a shitty covergirl mascara, so you get the idea) so I can't afford MAC or anything. So buying higher brands is out of the question for me lol. Maybe that is my problem though.

Thanks girls :flow:

Have you tried max factor? Not sure if you get it there and how much it is. Thats a really good one, lasts absolutely ages, very pigmented, and doesn't break easily. Some kohls break easier than others, but the only ways to help is to neverrrrr drop your eye pencil! Dropping it breaks the inside then as you sharpen the broken pieces just fall out. Also, always use a sharp sharpener with your pencil. If its not sharp it will drag and pull against the tip making it more likely to break off xx

I haven't tried max factor, but I will have a look and hopefully it won't be some stupid price :haha:

I must just have a penchance for picking pencils that are very soft! I've been really careful with handling this one, as I did read that if you drop them you're screwed, maaay have done that in the past  And my sharpener is pretty new, too.

Thanks love, will be on the lookout for that max factor one.

i use rimmel if you have it there? its really cheap here and hardly ever breaks!

I find if i drop it the whole inside bit breaks.. if im careful and never drop it it never breaks inside.

ive never heard of the freezer thing though?

Yup we do have rimmel. We have most brands, really :)

Haha yeah I'm thinking the whole freezer thing is a load of poop, at this rate.

I've never had one break on me, but I do use Max Factor ones. I think it mut be the brand you're using, even expensive doesn't always mean better :) Shop around until you find one that suits you! x

Thanks girlies. C'monnn payday so I can get a new one

I've only ever had a mac eyeliner pencil and I've had it now for about 5 years - I don't wear eyeliner that much but as far as I know it hasn't broken. I don't think it was that expensive either...I mean, I can't afford much so it must have been pretty reasonable for me to buy it :p
