How would you describe your Morning Sickness?

My morning sickness has been so off and on it's been quite strange!
It started last week, I woke up feeling sick, threw up then felt much better! The next two days nothing, then the following day woke up feeling sick, threw up then felt much better. The next day nothing, then the day after I woke up feeling ok, then it hit me suddenly and I had to run to the bathroom to throw up, then I felt fine! Then the next two days nothing, then this morning I didn't wake up feeling sick but again it came on suddenly, I threw up then felt instantly better!
It doesn't seem to make a difference if I eat or not, it seems like if I'm going to be sick that day then I just will whatever I do! But then I feel fine straight after, I still have a lot of foods that I just can't stand eating, but I crave proper junk food most of the time, I just had to have a mcdonalds burger yesterday!

I can say that it feels like a really bad hangover, you cant drink when pregnant but you sure can get the side effects lol, I thought i would miss the ms as mum said she never had it, mine started yesterday oh yeah! :) I was sat in the hairdressers thinking hurry up i feel really sick! xxx

Thanks for everyone's replies - I've read them out to OH and I think (hope!) he has a better understanding of how I (we) feel now!

Thank you for your stories - especially the funny ones!

I'm still feeling rubbish at the moment. I hoped for a moment that I may have had a bug of some sort that was making me feel bad, but no such luck as it's back today with a vengeance!

Oh well.... sickness - the best and worse symptom going!

:dust:

my morning sickness is awful.....i feel sick all the time, but when i am sick it comes from no where!!
im trying to keep my pregnancy a secret till ive had my first scan but had to confess to my team leader the other day after walking into work with her and puking instantly with no warning!!
but after im sick i feel really good for a few hours then the feeling of sick comes back!!
ive found eating starbursts really helps me though :)

Mine's a constant nausea that gets worse when I get very hungry. It started this week and initially only came on from midday onwards; the last couple days it's been from morning til night though.
Haven't upchucked yet, but came close when my cat threw up in front of me! It's not waves of nausea, just a constant presence...

Awww bless hunni this is what started my MS off cus the cat was unwell n chucked up in front of me n the thought turned my stomach n set me off :(

My m/sickness has "spells" sometimes its really bad and other times its bearable, I agree with the hangover feeling.

I have tried the sickness bands - I find these help.

But I tried Ginger Ale today and this has really made a difference today, its taken away the "bleh" feeling in a big way and stopped my stomach from turning over.

Certain smells - particularly cooking smells, pasties, pies etc really increase my nausea :(

I hope it passes really quick for everyone xxx

In my 12th week and it is still coming and going. I was so happy one day because I didn't have any sickness all day and felt so energetic like my old self....but it didn't last long at all. At first I only had it in the middle of the night, waking up feeling like I had to eat or else I would be sick. Then it got to where I felt hungry all day long and no amount of food could cure it...until I realized that it wasnt necessarily hunger I was feeling but M/S. Besides gaining 4 pounds in a week isn't good so I had to change my tactic by just getting through the nasty feeling by taking a nap...or just dealing with it. It does feel like I'm on a rolling boat. Sometimes eating helps but sometimes it doesn't. Today I was so excited to eat some shrimp...ate it and then felt really grossed out and sick feeling so I won't be eating shrimp for a very long time.

I've heard it compared to having a hangover... but I've never been hungover so I have no clue if that's what this feels like lol. Mine starts in the middle of the night, when I get up to use the bathroom. If I'm standing up more than about 30 seconds I have to throw up. This continues all night and morning until I eat something. Then after I eat I feel sick but usually don't throw up again once I've eaten. All day I start to feel sick if my stomach gets empty. Luckily there haven't been any foods or smells that set me off, it's just an empty stomach that gets me.
