HR help - public holidays

Hi Ladies, i'm looking for someone to help me.

Basically i get paid 25 days holidays per year and 9 public holidays.
I have never applied for the 9 public holidays to be paid, i always had the day off and my monthly wage remained the same.
I need to know if i am entitled to be paid for the 9 days for this year? i've had my 25 days holidays, all applied and asked for but i don't know if i'm within my rights to be paid for the 9 statutory days.
i have worked for the company for 9 years and its pretty small and has no HR dept, its all outsourced so i can't really ask anyone about it. My boss is weird with me as i'm on maternity and even more so now that i'm having another year of maternity leave! But sod him, i can deal with that!

If you normally get bank holidays off with pay, then they should be treated like extra days of holiday whilst on maternity leave.

I'm not sure I'm answering the question right. But I work for the NHS and our policy is that you continue to accrue Annual Leave whilst on maternity leave, but you do not accrue bank holidays whilst on maternity leave. So I could apply for and take my annual leave but got no extra pay or time in lieu for bank hols.

If you normally work the bank holidays (or get paid leave), then you are entitled to them back. Not sure if they have to pay them to you, or whether you can tie them onto the end of your Mat leave but you definitely do not just lose. We get given the amount of BH's as AL and have to book them off iykwim?

I have taken all my AL (some left from before I went on mat leave and some accrued while on leave) and all the bank holidays at the end of my Mat leave. I go back to work on paper on 9th Jan, but I don't actually go back till the end of March!

Defo enquire as to whether they will pay them to you or you have to take them as holiday. Are you going back between bubbas?
