HSG Booked

question for all of you. I was givin an antibiotic to start the night before the hsg and was told to keep taking it after the procedure unless my tubes arent dialated then I dont need to continue. So, that means I will find out the results right then and there right? How has your experience with the antibiotics been?

Hi I had a strong dose of antibiotics to take on the day and a weeks course to take after- my doc said the antibiotics are to prevent infection so even though my tubes were all fine :yipee: I still have to finish the antibiotics:nope:

I wasnt given any antibiotics. i was warned there is a risk of infection with the procedure, but everything is sterile so risk is small.

so glad it went well Kaye! And yip, sure sounds like everythings good! you will probably be anouncing your bfp in about 3wks lol! Fxd! Aww am so happy for you! Hope things go as smoothly for me next week! Eeek

Aww i sure hope i will get BFP soon.. Probably just another month i will convince myself, this is it, then it wont be. ARGH how annoying this journey is.

Hope your ok?

antibiotics? Ive not been told bout them
didnt know i had to take them!

Hey Kaye... I know what you mean bout convincing yourself this is it this time etc! Its crappy we have to go through this rollercoaster of emotions! Especially when its meant to be the most natural thing in the world right? But....your chances will definately be higher the next 3 cycles and hsg clear out for bfp works for many girls! I have everything crossed its worked for you! :dust:

I didn't get given any antibiotics either. Just warned of the small risk of infection.

Maybe I just have an overcautious doc! At the moment my mouth and skin feels so dry, would happily abandon the antibiotics! Doc prescribed me clomid so combined with cleared out tubes am taking a PMA to next month! JULY is going to be my month ladies!! Well mine and Kayes and Cookies and all the other lovely ladies who have had the HSG!!

Come on the BFP we can't wait to see you!!!!
Good luck all

love the positve attitue bradpittswife!!!

Intereting that not everyone is given antiobiotics. Mine say on the label take by mouth twice daily starting the evening before the procedure and discontinue if tubes aren't dilated. If they arent dilated that means they are closed right? and if they are then they are open? Therefore Im wanting them to be dilated? I probably sound dumb but just wanting to clarify.

missangie are you in the UK? I wonder if my hospital maybe has some MRSA issues and that's why.... :nope:
I assume dilated is open and it suggests that you wil find out today so that will be great :hugs: Good luck hope it goes ok and I'll be thinking of you

July will be our month ladies!

nice dose of pma mrs pitt!
yay for the chlomid!
I will join you for that July :bfp:
a week today till my test! Eeeek.
Think i will have ovd by then so July is my first 'real' chance!

Hi Ladies!!! Thought I would let you know that I had my HSG two hours ago and I was SO nervous! Woke up with a bad cold, took the antibiotic which upset my tummy (along with the nerves) and almost threw up... Once I was in the room at the hospital I was beyond nervous but it was all very quick and pretty much painless. I didnt like the cleaning with the giant cotton swabs and the balloon but the dye barely cramped me up. I got to watch the whole thing and they walked me through what I was seeing. My uterus is "beautiful" as the doc said and my tubes are OPEN!!! YAY!!! Have some cramping/uncomfortable feeling now but not too bad. I see my dr next Friday and should be getting clomid so I am SO excited! I have a good feeling about July for all of us!!!!!!! :)

IF I do in fact get the clomid on Friday do you think my dr will have me start the provera to induce a period right away or will I have to wait until this cycle has been at least 28 days, anyone know from your experiences??

Oh and no Im not in the UK, Im in the states. I was told that the antibiotics arent really necessary since infection is very rare and that I dont need to continue them.

yay Angie for the beautiful uterus and open tubes! Hooray! Boo for feeling sick but great news that everythings good!
Not sure bout the chlomid but im guessing they will want your cycle to be of a normal lenght! Just a guess though! Good luck next cycle!

Super Missangie, glad it went well and all is well! That is the best outcome ever.
Hope you get your clomid and your BFPxx

Brilliant news!! Hoorah looks like the HSGs are going well for us all! Go JULY:bfp: for us all xx
missangie I didn't get Provera have to wait currently on cd22 so probably another two weeks minimum yet before I start!
Have a great weekend ladies xx:hugs:
