I just came back from my HSG scan. I saw my films and there was no dye flowing from my right tube. I asked the doctor if my right tube was blocked. She said that it could be but it also could be that it just didn't fill up. She had trouble filling up my uterus with dye, it kept leaking out (sorry TMI). I don't know how this effects my IVF cycle. The films will be sent to my fertility doctor within 2-3 days. I have no idea what is going on now . I don't think they can do IVF without finding out what's going on with that tube.:cry:

:( I hope things work out sweetie, I just wanted to give you

Isn't IVF for people who have a problem such as that? I hope it all works out too...try not to stress too much..I know it's hard. Keep us posted too...

sorry hun, hope everything is ok, when will you get feedback from your doc?

My doctor said, if the fallopian tube is extremely damaged, it's advised to remove the tube before performing IVF.

Anyway, do update us afetr u see your fertility doctor.
May be it's just not that bad as u think..

:hugs: I hope they dont keep you waiting too long before getitng some answers

Thinking about you hun. I'm not sure whether a blocked tube will delay your IVF or not as they don't do the egg collection via the tube (certainly not from the way my specialist explained it to me anyhow). I hope you get some good news and get to hold your LO really soon.

Thanks girls for giving me the support.

My doctor said, if the fallopian tube is extremely damaged, it's advised to remove the tube before performing IVF.

I've read that if the tube has fluid, you do need to remove it before you start IVF. The fluid is not good for babies. So the worst case senerio is that my IVF will be delayed while I get my tubes removed. I will know in about 2 days. I am also got really hopeful when I read on a website that when a HSG showed a blocked tube, you should get it retested because 60-70% of the time the dye just didn't fill up. I hope that is the case.

Best of luck hun, I hope everything works out ok.

I received a phone call from my doctor. She said she got the reports but not the films yet. The HSG test result is inconclusive. They were unable to tell the condition of my uterus and if my tubes were opened. They scheduled me for a Hysterosonogram on the 25th where they would do some ultrasounds after they fill my uterus with saline. It does not check for blocked tubes but it does check for polyps and fibroids.

Bloomin hell - we pin all our hopes on a test hoping that this will be the one that answers our questions and it just leads to more bloomin tests.
really hope they can find out whats going on sweetie.
