Hyperthyroidism diagnosed at 8 weeks!

Anyone else found out they have this brought on by pregnancy?? I'm not on meds yet (had more bloods taken today to check the amount of antibodies first).

I'm so worried after reading the effects if could have on both me and my baby

Hi Hun. I have a thyroid condition known as hoshimotos which can cause hypothyroidism. This wasn't brought on by pregnancy bit I found out right before I became pregnant. My endo told.me that although untreated thyroid disorders can be a big deal, they are easily controllable with meds and should not cause complications in the pregnancy. They just need to watch your levels very closely and respond with meds as necessary. I would just find a great endo doctor and try not to worry too much. Good luck!

Hi ladies,
I have hypothyroidism and Hashimotos. I was diagnosed with both 3 years ago so not brought on by pregnancy. I completely agree with the above- find a good endo, have your levels checked every 4 weeks and take ur meds daily. You caught it early in ur pregnancy which is great and it will level out in a few weeks with the meds. Try not to stress, stress can flare up ur thyroid too!
