Ahhh!
So yesterday I woke up and was feeling really yuck and quite tired. I put it down to the fact that on Friday we moved house so obviously I had so much to do. At about 11am I started to get period like cramps. This coupled with the fact my bump has dropped, I have had my show and I had mild contractions under a week ago I decided that it was probably going to be the start of something. I called my midwife who said that as I was 3 days away from being full term that they would not try and stop the contractions as they did last time as it would only hold them off for a few days as like she always thought, Daisy is ready to come now. She told me to call her back when I started to have proper contractions. When I got off the phone to her I called FOB to tell him that labour is going to be happening pretty soon but Daisy might not be here for ages. He decided to come around anyways as he "wants to witness everything". Hmm.
At 3pm it was still cramp like feelings but not contractions. 2 of my friends came over and along with FOB we unpacked EVERYTHING of mine and Daisy's so now our room is done and we don't need to worry about that. It was about 7pm when we finished and FOB thought it would be a good idea to have a curry, a REALLY spicy curry! Let me tell you one thing, it does not work and just made me feel sick. I stayed with cramp like pains!
FOB stayed over and we went to bed at about midnight. I felt really sick and kept having hot and cold flushes for about 2 hours after we decided to sleep. Not nice!
At 8am this morning I was woken up by a contraction. It was quite strange. I literally woke up and was wide awake and just felt this pain. It was a bearable pain but it was no where near comfortable! I went to the toilet and when I came back FOB was up again. I told him that the first contraction had come and he was seriously bouncing off the walls! We waited for what seemed like ages for the next one, the only time in my life was I ever excited to want a contraction! It came about 10ish minutes later as we didn't time it. We timed the second one and it was 10 minutes. I called up the midwife and she told me that I could take 2 paracentamol (sp?) and for us to come down to see her for 10am. So I got ready, woke up my whole house and then my Mum, sister, FOB and I went to the hospital. We saw the midwife who said that everything was pretty much in order and it is now just time to wait! She told me to call her when we are down 7 minutes and when we are 5 minutes to come to the hospital but obviously keep her informed.
We got back home at about midday and the contractions were down to 9 minutes. After having something to eat FOB thought it would be a good idea to take a LOOOOOONG walk. We walked for about 3 miles and as most of you girls know being pregnant does not make for a joyfull 3 mile walk! By the time we got back the contractions were down to 7 minutes. They still weren't very painful and after I took another 2 paracetamol it really didn't both me much. We called the midwife again and she just asked a few questions and to call at 6 minutes. I went to have a bath at about 5pm as the contractions were still 7 minutes. I spent about 2 hours in the bath! The water is really calming and it totally gets rid of the pain and uncomfortable feeling. So glad I have booked a water birth! When I got out the bath the contractions were back up to 8 minutes
This annoyed me but they are now back down to 7 minutes!
At the moment not much is happening. I am having contractions every 7 minutes as FOB is like timing them non-stop! Everytime we are little lower he gets even more excited, kinda sweet really. He has been quite nice the past nearly 2 days or day and a half. He also said I can have the 4D scan pictures back. He said he only said that I couldn't as he was annoyed and then went on to say how much he wants us to get back together. Back to being in labour! I am planning to take another 2 tablets at 8pm and go to sleep nice and early as I think tomorrow could be D-day!
So far it has not be nearly half as bad as I thought it was going to be! I am giving my sister my account details incase anything happens so she can update you!
Hi, I am Rosie, Ashley's sister. I am sooo sorry for not doing any updates! Ashley will kill me! I will be quick and leave her to tell you details. At 5am her contractions were at 6minutes apart. By 8am they were 5minutes apart so we left for the hospital. On the way to the hospital, Owen (Daisy's dad) was driving and Ashley's waters broke in his car! I will let her explain the situation, literally one of the most funniest moments in my whole life! When we finally got to the hospital she was complaining that the contractions were really hurting now. They put her in a wheelchair and took her to her room. By 10am she decided to get into the pool as then she could have as much gas and air as she liked. The contractions were at 4minutes at this time. At 12.30ish they said that Daisy's heart beat was starting to dip. It dipped 3 times and on the last time they couldn't find it for a good 2 mins. They said that if she didn't give birth in 30 minutes she would have to have a c-section. So Daisy arrived at 1.03pm lol. Both Mummy and baby are doing well and Ashley should be leaving the hospital tomorrow afternoon. Daisy is soooo beauitful even if she does take after her Dad! I am sure she will be on here telling you girls all the details as soon as she is home
