Maybe I'm a bit early, but I've to be in hospital for 8am tomorrow morning to get the gel and then hopefully my waters can be broken on Monday morning.

I'm hoping all goes to plan and I don't need a C-section which they said they would probably do come Wednesday if nothing has happened.

Not expecting anything for a few days, but I can dream that it all might start happening tomorrow!

I so hope I'm posting by the end of the week with a little baby in my arms! xx

Good luck hope all goes well and thing progress quickly for you

Are you being induced?? You must be so excited!! Hope everything goes perfect for you :) x x x x

Yeah Nicola, I have cholestasis, so some doctors say its unsafe for baby to still be in there post 38 weeks, but my liver results have been good the last few weeks so they didn't want to do as soon as 37 weeks.

I'm so nervous, I've heard horror stories about induction and I've heard good things so I'm trying to keep an open mind! x

Thanks ladies x

You will be fine! I've heard being induced may hurt more than natural labour, but so what? The pain wont last forever and at the end you will have your beautiful baby! :flower:

Thank you. Hopefully I can post from my phone. It might keep me sane if I have a long wait!

Nicola, I've heard its more painful too, but in all honesty I'm not really scared of the pain, I'm just hoping everything goes reasonably smoothly, no forcepts, no stopping and starting and no c-sections.

However, as long as my girl arrives safe, who really cares, I'll do whatever it takes. xxx:hugs:

Good luck!!x

I've had my baby!

Little miss was born on Tuesday morning at 8.46am after a failed induction with the 24 hour gel on Sunday and another failed 6 hour gel on Monday morning.

Then on Monday evening I got another 6 hour gel at which point the midwife was a bit rough to sweep the membranes, but she did the trick. Almost immediately I started having contractions.

By 2am my waters went and by 5am i got diamorphine to help with the pain, but was told it would be a long wait.

The midwives told me I could get an epidural at 8.30am if I wanted and I'd prob deliver by dinner time. That seemed like a long wait and I'd been awake since 4am Sunday morning so I decided to go for it.

However, by 8.30am when he arrived (I was out of it on gas and air by this point) they told him to go away, there was no need now, at which point I started shouting why was he leaving me. "He is leaving you because you are delivering this baby in the next few minutes!" was their reply.

I had no idea, I just figured the pain was right for that stage and I still had 9 hours to go as I'd only been 2cm dilated at 5am. But no, out she came in 6 pushes, it was amazing.

In all honesty, I didn't find the pushing out stage difficult at all, and I didn't think it hurt. It was the contractions that were the bugger, but when I felt the urge to push, that pushed away the pain too.

All in all it was sore, but nowhere near as bad as I expected and I would definately do it again!

I got a second degree tear, but it wasn't deep and I didn't feel it at all. The recovery has been fine so far.

I am so in love with my bubba, we are happily settled home and breastfeeding and enjoying every minute of cuddles together. The best feeling ever!

In the first picture, she is one hour old, and the second picture was the following day for the professional hospital photographer xx
