I miss....

Also, I didn't know about soft serve ice cream until about two weeks ago so I stopped having ny mcflurrys and I already miss them too!

I don't know if you're in America or not but here, they're made using pasteurised milk so they're fine.

From the NHS website: "Soft ice creams should be fine to eat when you're pregnant, as they are processed products made with pasteurised milk"

Thanks so much for this response! I feel better now

I miss just being myself. All pregnancy aches and pains are annoying, and I don't have any comfortable clothes to wear except pjs. I'd only had a 4m break after stopping bfing, so can't wait to just be normal!

And yes I know i'm extremely lucky to have children.

In the US they caution getting it from a reputable source as it is not the ice cream itself (its pasteurized) its the machine can harbor the bacteria and pass it into the ice cream....

I do not really have to worry about that in my area. Where I live is really well "snobby upscale". So a lot of the businesses that are dirty or have any type of health violations do not last very long. I think if I really want a milkshake I will stick to the places I know are really clean (and yes even in the back where they make food). Like PDQ (People Dedicated to Quality). Ever since I moved to this area (new state as well), I have noticed people are really picky. I could walk downtown and probably lick the sidewalk its that clean. I also never saw a Walmart as clean as the one here in Cary, NC. I swear to you, it almost looks like a really upscale store but its Walmart lol.

I think the risks of catching anything from soft serve ice cream are lower than they are from preparing your own foods and washing your own fruit and veg etc - companies won't last long if they get a listeria outbreak.

Yeah I try to stick to companies where I can actually see the kitchen....other than that I skip it. I am child protection worker and I can tell ya, some of these "snobby upscale" areas are worse in terms of hygiene and how they care for their families.:haha:

I miss

-sleep/sleeping on my tummy (since finding out we were expecting lo I have a 3am internal alarm clock)
-smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels (1st thing I am having when I come home from hospital)
-sex (oh worries about hurting our lo)
-rose cider. I'm not a huge drinker just miss the occasional one.

X

I miss:

Salmon sashimi
Sleeping through the night
Having energy to spend the whole day out with my kids, now I have to be home by 2 pm for a nap
Not being so itchy all the time

Getting drunk!

Otherwise...nothing. I don't really limit myself from anything in moderation.

Oh, well, running. I stopped running in first tri because my asthma was really bad for a few weeks, and when I tried to pick up again it gave me the terrible feeling of having to pee which I just cannot tolerate for 30 minutes.

Hmm where to begin. I miss cold cuts, looking in the mirror with a positive self image, being able to find something to wear without feeling frumpy, Its getting nice out so I am going to miss getting a cone of soft serve covered in jimmies, and going out with the boyfriend to his friends house as often as we use too.

I miss
- sleeping on my stomach
- being able to drink. I would love to have a Margarita or some wine right now!

That's about it. I love being pregnant expanding waistline and all!

Being able to dye my hair! These greys are depressing!

Having energy to play with my 2 year old the way I used to.

I am enjoying being able to blame all my unfinished chores on pregnancy though. So major plus there! :)

I know I will soon miss sleeping on my stomach and fitting into normal clothes, but I'm not quite there yet. Not looking forward to that or the other discomforts of being further along in pregnancy. So far my life is fairly normal except that I do really miss sleeping through the night (I have some sort of pregnancy insomnia) and being able to run an errand without stopping for a bathroom break.

I miss....
brie
pate
smoked salmon and sushi
running and my outdoors training (too strenuous and muddy)
Wasn't missing alcohol at all til my in laws brought a bottle of sangria recently....man, I wanted a cold glass

I hear you I told I my husband the other day a tall glass of Sangria would be wonderful!

I miss having bare legs, that don't look like I've been in the wars. :( I have got terrible spider veins this pregnancy and they need to be raised for at least half the day or they become painful.

I also am missing wine a tiny bit. A really crisp, icy cold glass of white wine would be amazing right now. I would let myself have a small glass, but when I'm pregnant my taste buds gets mixed up so wine doesn't taste nice anyway.

I also miss not worrying about what I'm wearing. Work still don't know and its becoming difficult to disguise it.

I miss:

- having a cocktail on a hot day. I definitely need to look up some virgin cocktail recipes for this summer. :wine:

- Eating whatever I want. I never knew there were so many things you had to avoid while being pregnant. Just craving the worst kind of food because I can't have it.

- Not seeing swollen ankles.

- Oh yeah, and like others before me ... :sex: These days I'm way too tired to stay up and wait for hubby to come home.

I miss:

WINE!!!! :wine:

And looking in the mirror and feeling slim and good. I worked so hard to lose all my baby weight from carrying DS - now i see it all creeping back on waaaa!! :hissy:

Hello hun, dying your hair in pregnancy is fine, aslong as your in a well ventilated room and if you use bleach make sure its done with a cap so it dosent go direct to your scalp, and use gloves if doing it yourself x
