Im sure i have seen some fruit crates like those before. Keep your eyes peeled in the supermarkets for crates of clementines and stuff and check your local greengrocers and local markets etc xxx

Old flower boxes cut in half would do the trick! then you could carry on the theme with painted flower pots for arty stuff or soft toys.
