If everyone hated your name for baby would you change it?

I had loads of names with William and everyone tore them apart, started making fun of them and saying they would be called this and that , I ended up with no names at the end, went for darrens dads name as none of the grandchildren had it and he is deceased. My mum was the worst! this time people have asked me and I will not tell them. I have one or two and still looking.

I would never change our name...but we're keeping it secret anyway ...

However, I am a teacher and have taught kids called (yes these are real) :

Zeus
Armani
Dash

and they all really suit their names!

Lol, wouldn't call my own baby it but he was such a little legend at school ...very tall and powerful...it really did suit him...I promise!!x

i'm a teacher too and have come across some very odd names and some even odder spellings of names - but the kids seem impervious to them. adults are the worst; my MIL in particular thinks we can't possibly give our baby a 'different' name because it will get teased. there are so many lovely names out there with lovely meanings, why not go for them? i have an unusual name for my peer group and i think its made me more of an individual. it really is up to you - its your baby, your life, your blummin choice! examples of names we've been thinking of:

Giles
Orrin (means 'river')
Fergus
Nicholas
Gregory

Jemima
Rosemary
Beatrice
May
Lucy

but we might change our minds and come up with something completely different! i think Hudson is just fine btw x

Me and dh have picked our lo's names and sticking to them cos we both love them. Everybody is gonna find out when she is born cos we dont think its anybody's business but ours what we name our child. Wouldnt consider changing the names even for a second but then I think our choice is pretty normal..if it was like Phoenix Chi or Sparkle Tinkerbell then you would have to expect a few raised eyebrows lolol

To annoy my mum I told her I was going to call my son Constintine , she hit the roof, that was after her wanting him named Ruddolf Johan krijn (krine) dads name is Johan and I do not want my son named after my dad as I just dont want that name.
