If you've had an ultrasound at 6 weeks

I will be 6 weeks and 2 days tomorrow according to my last period. Though I think I ovulated late last month.
I have had 2 episodes of pink spotting, just noticed while wiping, each about a week apart.
My OB has me booked for an ultrasound tomorrow at 1130 due to the spotting and the fact that I'm 38 (older mom)
I'm worried that the scan is too early to see anything and will only make me more anxious. It is a vaginal ultrasound but based on your experiences what should I expect to see at this point?
I've only had scans at the 8 week point before and at that time you can see baby with heartbeat.
I'm just curious as to your experiences.

I had my ultrasound last week at 6+1 and we saw little itty baby with its heart beating! So awesome. But just remember if you don't know exactly when you ovulated then your dates could be off and even a few days could change what you see dramatically.

With my daughter my first us was at 5w6d, but I measured 6w2d and we saw the hb. Good luck, but like other poster said, it will all depend on when you ovulated.

Thanks scout. Well my OB has booked for a repeat scan at 8 weeks so I guess if we see nothing tomorrow than we still have another chance.

I had a scan at 5w3d and saw a heartbeat
And at 6w4d with my first and saw a very clear heartbeat x

At 5wks we saw a gestation and yolk sac, at 6wks 4days we saw two babies, two yolk sacs and two hb's (praying for two hb's still on Saturday!)

It's that gestation where it either will or won't depending on ovulation date, implantation date and how big/small baby is. Don't freak out if you can't see baby yet because it might be a tad too early x

Thanks for the support girls! We saw a tiny flickering heart beat. The internal Doppler couldn't pick up the sound but we were able to see it clearly on the scan. I feel a lot better! Follow up scan at the end of the month to get the measurements and confirm dating.

I haven't got one booked yet-- I haven't been able to get an appointment with my dr to confirm pregnancy until TOMORROW!!! Ugh driving me crazy. I really hope I can get an early scan next week before Christmas!!

That would've made me crazy! I have zero patience. And that early scan eases do many worries!

Yay fab news!!

In the uk we only get an early scan if we have problems such as bleeding and cramping or have a medical history that dictates you should have one, unless your under a fertility specialist. The alternative is to pay for one privately. You ladies are lucky if I hadn't had bleeding and paid for scans I wouldn't be seeing my baby until almost 14wks!

I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks (because I wanted to find out if I was truly pregnant) and you could clearly see the baby and the heartbeat was surprisingly quite strong

I had a scan at 6+4 saw baby and HB
7+1 saw baby and HB
& 9+3 heard and saw HB and baby was wriggling around!
