i just saw a mouse and screamed and pulled my feet up on the couch ... the mouse was just stood there happily on the other side of the living room FFS!!!!!!!!!

Anyone got any suggestions to get rid of it ... I'm really not wanting to kill it but OMG i cannot stand mice with all the bacteria they have on them ... and to think Kaya crawls around on the floor where that mouse has been.

I'm really careful about what gets left on the floor at night and i never leave food out either so i don't know why the mouse is even in here ... apart from warmth!
Kaya has a corner where her toys go and there is never any food or anything left on the floor for more than about half an hour (and even then its bits that Kaya's dropped during dinner and its only left there whilst i'm bathing kaya and getting her into bed after her dinner, then i clean it up) the mouse has just crawled into and out of Kaya's toy corner ... i know there are no holes in the walls there as you can see it clearly when kaya pulls all her toys out during the day.

I'm going to wash and clean all her toys tomorrow now and put them in a sealed plastic box at night so i know that they are clean in the future when Kaya comes to use them, as obviously she's still at the stage of putting things into her mouth all the time and i don't want her getting anything from that mouse inside her.


someone please have some idea how i get rid of that bloody mouse ... hopefully there is only one!!!!!!!

borrow someones cat for a couple of days the smell will keep mice away..xx

^ I agree though, borrow someone's cat. Or just get mouse traps. I hate hate hate mice, they are definitely not the cleanest of creatures, so for that reason I would not want them in the house. I hate killing animals though, I would be so grossed out. I can't imagine LOL

I'm sorry Jessie but i don't have much else to do with my day when kaya is sleeping, especially now the tellie has buggered itself up lol.

I'd get a cat but Kaya's allergic to them ... i looked after a friends cat for 2 days and when it went home again kaya was suddenly alright ... i thought she only had a cold

is there any humane way of catching and getting rid of them, i really don't like the idea of mouse traps as Kaya will no doubt put her hands in them somehow ... and if she does that thats going to hurt like hell! and there isn't really any way that i could block the traps off so kaya can't get to them but the mouse can :grrr:

yeah you can get humane traps, no idea where from but my mum used to have them, you put a bit of food in the end and a door just closes on the mouse and you take it outside and release it..xx

that sounds great to me, except if i release it outside it will no doubt get back in again, im in a first floor flat and it somehow got in here!!!!! ah well bedtime ... if i can get to sleep that is!

I literally could have just written this a few days ago! We just found out there are mice and then we recently got HUGE spiders, one that bit my OH! Except, I can't really give much humane advice as we left our home for a few days so that they could completely bomb the place and clear it all out...

I'd kill it, it'll just come back in again. Yes I'm heartless but me and my child come first so cya Just put the mouse trap on the kitchen floor and don't let Kaya in there. Do you have safety gates? x

think thats what i'm going to have to do anna, or maybe put one up in the living room once kaya's gone to bed and then take it up in the morning before she's awake.

i did have safety gates but they kinda got broken by Kaya so now i just close the doors hehe alot easier.

Anyway, we had mice in our old house they were pratically there all the time ad we sorta lived ontop of a field lol. I hated them. I would rarely see them but then find droppings so I knew they were still there, despite placing live traps and setting them free miles away, the normal mousetraps like the snap shut ones didn't catch them but the food would he gone the clever little buggers lol so in the end I resorted to poison. I didn't want to incase I wad getting mice drop dead under the floorboards but I was pushed to the limit as nothing else worked!! Two trays of poison ( placed underneath my ckitchen cupboards) out of reach of Alfie of course soon resolved the problem and kept them away too I wish I used it sooner!!! I never did find any dead mice nor smell them!! You can buy it in supermarkets and places like B&Q or wilkinsons

there isn't really anywhere that i could put poison out of reach of kaya, so i'm trying the traps, i've got 3 so far :O

but i've realised, that the farmm just accross the road is just cutting down all the wheat etc so it must be them moving to somewhere else now there home is being disturbed. Hopefully they'll be gone soon

Once we thought we had 1 mouse so we put out 3 traps and got 4 mince within half an hour and when we woke up in the morning there was anoth 3 :S

mice have rights too!
poor little meeces with no home to go to so they rat-a-tat-tat on shonas door.............and she kills them dead!
