Immature eggs - please help

Had my EC yesterday and got 10 eggs but 6 were immature

I'm wondering whether my FS sent me too early for EC or whether I need more trigger shot.

That aside the clinic called and the other 4 - 3 out of 4 fertilised with the fourth possibly - have to call back tomorrow to see.

The 6 immature were germinal vesicle the most immature and today they are M1.

They need to be M2 to fertilise and the clinic said there's nothing they can do with them. Can't they keep watching them to see if they get to M2 and then try ivf with them and then i could freeze them or does it not work like that?

i asked the clinic if there was anything they could do and they said not at this stage. what does that mean?

Should I call again and ask why they can't keep watching them?

Anyone else had this or know what I should do?

Also if I have 3 embryos by sat at transfer do you think they'll put all 3 in? I'm 25 and they said on phone was I having 1 or 2. Not sure if they'd put 3 in lol!

Hi Mummyiwannabe - I was sorry to read about this in the other thread.

We had immaure eggs last time, and the FS never mentioned any M1 or M2 things to us, I guess it stands for different levels of Maturity. I think once they have been collected from your ovaries, it is probably hard to artificially mature them before they start to deteriorate.

Before we had our follow-up appointment I researched what could be done about immature eggs, and I discovered that low level sof Leutenizing Hormone can be given to help them mature during the follicular development - so this time I'm getting my LH measued as well as estrogen and I may have to inject some LH (in the form of pregnyl) whilst stimming. I read about a drug called Luveris which doe sthe same thing, ut it's very expensive, and my FS said pregnyl was just as good!

Another thing we are going to try this time is a double trigger shot, to give the eggs a final boost.

Hopefully the 3 (4) you have will grow nicely and it won't even be an issue for you.

Ha, after I just posed there's nothing that can be done about it in the August thread, I see here that there is so will be speaking to my clinic IF things don't work out this round.

It's amazing isn't it how some clinics think there isn't and others think there is! MENTAL!

I guess it all depends on why they think they are immature. I know there isn't a great deal they can do about the quality though.
