Income support

You should be able to claim tax credits as student finance only covers the time your oh is in uni. They will go off his earnings, its worth a try. Good Luck with everything x

Excellent. I finally got through to the WTC people and put hubby's job onto the claim (always worth doing anyway lol). They worked out he has earning potential of just under £16k for the remainder of the tax year and the threshold is £17.5k so we're entitled to £15 a week estimated. Better than a kick in the teeth. When Baby number 3 arrives he'll get a little bit more (not a lot but a bit lol) plus CTC will go up by about £50 a week which isn't too shabby, plus child benefit goes up by £13 a week as per.

When his hours drop in term time he wont be eligible, however, we'll need to give them all the new figures in september as he'll only have earned about £4k so obviously that will change things. I'm looking at going back to work a little bit (obviously childcare permitting) from November onwards so will have to see.

Talk about complicated....but it's done now. Now I just have the renewal pack to do!
