Sigh. Sometimes I just cannot take this rollercoaster. IVF is covered by my insurance, but I got denied because of 1)age and 2) lack of sufficient attempts with conservative methods, aka IUI.

I already did two stimulated cycles (one tried natural BD, one IUI), responded great to stims, multiple follies, triggered and nothing. One blocked tube, possibly two. Doctor said IVF was logical next step rather than more fruitless IUIs. Insurance disagrees.

I really feel I have some issue (other than PCOS) preventing pregnancy and more IUIs will mean more disappointment. Plus, I'm one month on, one month off, due to overstimulation every time.

So, according to the nurse, I need two more IUIs before I even try to get approved for In Vitro. That means one attempt in March, off in April, one in May, off in June and posisbly IVF in July.

I just want to crawl up in a ball and implode :(

This is the most difficult thing I've ever been through. It is just way too much pain and sadness :(

Oh man.. that is SO frustrating. I know it's SO SO hard- but you very well MAY just get that BFP with an IUI!!! While I do agree that IVF has a higher success rate- IUI does work for quite a few women.. it did for me. You truly never know!!! I know it sucks to say this- especially for myself right now going through a miscarriage- but everything happens for a reason.. even in those TRULY difficult moments. :hugs: I'll keep my fingers crossed for a BFP in March for you!!!!

Like Holly said, perhaps IUI may give you BFP?
Good luck!
:dust:

your body might react differently to the trigger shot next time, you really never know!

but, honestly, i think it's high time that those insurance companies stop pretending like they are the medics!!!!
if your specialist says "IVF is the next step", then why oh why do they think they're high and mighty enough to say "no it isn't" if they haven't even examined you yourself, i can get soooo angry over things like this, it's just not fair!

I would say just do what you need to with the IUI's. As others said, you may still get a BFP with those. If not, at least your insurance will cover IVF once you have jumped through some hoops. There are a lot of insurances that don't pay for anything fertility related...my doesn't and it sucks! Good luck!
