iodine supplement in prengnacy

    Hi there

    Anyone been prescribed this? My MW told me that it is now recommended which is new from my last pregnancy in 2009.

    My prenatal already has iodine in it. It does reduce your chances of miscarriage, but its rare for someone living in developed countries to be deficit in it, because our salts contain iodine, but I made sure my prenatal had it, just in case. I dont usually add salt to my foods, and Im not sure if processed foods have iodine.

    I have to have iodine in my prenatal due to my hypothyroidism.

    In nz and Aussie they've done studies on it and now give everyone a Supplement

    I'm in NZ and they prescribed it to me as soon as I saw doctor
