This is a really old thread but I thought I'd update. Turns out my son just has sensitive skin. Even as a 3 year old i cant use any soap or perfumed product directly on his skin. I found using simple brand wipes worked as did drying him after every change. Any hint of a rash he got vaseline on it (he's allergic to most other diaper creams) .
