It's worth a shot to try the different coding route. My obgyn put all my bloodwork, appointments, etc through as pcos and it was covered. When I moved on to an RE, I asked him about coding bc I knew insurance wouldnt cover anything by him and he was less than nice about it. He said hes part of a teaching hospital and it would not be appropriate to set an example that "insurance fraud" is acceptable practice. He did go on to say that he r realizes insurance companies discriminate against infertility patients, but that my obgyn was technically doing something illegal. So it really depends on the doctor. Not trying to be a downer, just putting my experience out there in case someone runs into something similar.
