Is it normal to not be seen until 8-10 weeks?

Its so weird how it can vary from one place to another. When I had my blood tests I was told it needed to double within 48hrs to be a considered a normal viable pregnancy!

Goodluck hun!

I'm in the UK and when I had my boys (who are 10 and 8 now) you could just self-refer to the midwives- they had a drop-in at the sure start centre once a week and you could just turn up and they booked you in, regardless of how many weeks you were. I live in a different area now though and when I called my GP (at 5 weeks pregnant) they gave me the number for the midwives and when I rang I was told they only book you in between 8 and 10 weeks, so I think that must be the new standard a lot of places?
