i live on the third floor and if i am in the house on my own i cant get down to the gate to let people in unless i wrap leyley up in her coat, blankie, hat etc lol, we have this big gate all around the campus so no one without a fob can get in, i was wondering whether it would be safe to leave leyley in her moses basket inside her cot while i go to the gate, i have the HV coming and dont wanna leave leyley all wrapped up cos she might overheat but then id have to leave the HV waiting for 10mins while i got leyley all wrapped up

what do u girls reckon? safe or not?

As long as she is somewhere safe, cant roll away etc, then you'll be fine.

You leave her alone for a minute while you go pee right?

yeh but i can still hear her there lol, my mam said it was fine but i think im still in the new mother phase where i dont want to let her out of my sight haha

can't you just wrap her up in a fleecey blanket? If you're only nippin down i'm sure it won't be that cold for her. Otherwise She probably would be ok in cot as long as there was nothing within in her reach.

I think i would probably leave her as you said in the moses basket in the cot, as long as she doesn't have loads of blankets and things to pull over her head, she will be ok.

Like PP said you must leave her a for a bit when you go to the loo or have a shower....
If you have a Baby monitor put that on and take it with you?

will the HV think im a bad mammy for leaving her? even if i take the baby monitor with me?

no. you could always make a point of mentioning your still working out best way then she might advise x

no of course she won't think that, she will see that you left her someplace safe and took the monitor with you to make sure. x

It's safe for just that one minute...lay her in her cot (but as the girls said without blankets) or on something she can't roll off or bury her head in.

Bring the monitor with you and it's all gonna be fine. :)

I'd say leaving her in the crib is fine, just don't put any blankets in there. Also its worse for them to overheat then to get a little bit cold, its easy to warm them up, harder to cool them off. Just put a long sleeved shirt on her and leave the heat on.

ya, I think she will be fine... I put my reycling etc outside every week and leave her inside...

tbh I only ever put a snowsuit etc on in the super cold weather... I usually just wrap a warm blankie around her for the short trips outside....
