is sex safe?

I am due on Friday. Totally normal pregnancy so far. I had a bit of staining last time we had sex and midwife said no more sex (38 weeks).

Assuming i go overdue like last time, it could be another 8 weeks until we can do it again. (2 pre baby, 6 post baby).

Just wondering what harm sex can do at this stage?

Maybe give your doc a call and ask? I'm not really sure myself.

Is the staining the reason she said no more sex?

Yeah, I mentioned the staining at a routine appointment. She asked if we had sex recently and when I confirmed, she said don't do it, and even put it on my notes.

Don't really want to ask the doctor about it. Have no more appts til next week with the midwife. I can do without it fine, just feel bad about hubby. I was hoping it was just maybe the mucus plug and sex would get things moving, but she said not to ??
