is there anyway to not go overdue??

Just wondering if there is anything i can do that will mean i might not go overdue?
I heard sperm softens the cervix, if i had sex everyday would i be less likely to go overdue?
I have no idea about this stuff i just reaaally don't want to go overdue and have a horrible feeling i will!

I tried everything. Sex, nipple stimulation, pineapple, RLT, EPO, hot curries etc and nothing has worked for me. I just keep telling myself he will come when he's ready

Nope I think its just one of those things, baby will come when ready. I was overdue with both my children and needed induced. With my daughter I tried everything to get her out on time as I wanted a home birth but nothing worked and she was born in hospital after induction. My SIL has just had similar experience both her boys were over due, she didn't need induced but she was approx 7-10 days over with both and she also tried everything she could to get them out.

Its also more likely you will go overdue with first baby, so I'd try not to over think it.

Ive tried everything, from old wives tales to things people swear by, nada! Braxtons, sure by the bucket loads, but sweep yesterday i was still "closed", its all about when baby wants to come it seems !

I'd agree with what everyone else has said. I've kept active and tried all of the o,d wives tales to try and encourage labour but I'm now a week overdue. Baby will come when they're ready and as long as they're born healthy that's the most important thing

Nope hun there is nothing you can do to stop yourself from going overdue. Baby will come when she is ready Unfortunately your are more likely to go overdue with your first baby x

Completely agree with you!! I've even taken to ignoring texts and things now - I feel rude but its bloody annoying always writing the same thing. I'd tell them if anything had happened!! Xx

You could schedule a section then your guaranteed not to go over.... Other then that babies come when they are done cooking.

Me too! I am sick of the texts and phone calls etc, NO I haven't had 'that baby' yet!

Nope. As far as I am aware NOTHING works. My first was 2 weeks overdue, my second a week and hopefully this one will be early xx

I'm getting induced tomorrow and have tried every wives tale under the sun to get going, even had a stretch and sweep! Granted I'm not 40 weeks but I do believe they will come when they are ready unfortunately!!
