I know there's a cloth bum pic thread, and I do look in it at all your gorgeous nappies (and LOs) but...

Am thinking of acquiring/trying an Itti, but don't know which colour to choose. Also am not sure of the size - Adam is c.20lb, so am thinking Large and maybe have to wait for it to fit well.

So, if anyone has pics of their LO modelling an Itti and doesn't mind sharing... could you also say LO's approx weight in the pic, the size of the Itti, whether it's an AIO or SIO, and which colour/print they're in.

:flower:

Hi!

Izzy is 15mths, bang on 50th centile for height and weight, weighs about 22.5 lbs
She wears large on the smallest (without crossing over)

Here she is in a yellow - thats the only pic I have of her in one, but she has all the colours except black

Oh forgot to say I have SIOs

Here Seth, he's wearing a medium and is about 14-15lb. Its the lime green ;) Forgot to say also this is a AIO though we have SIO's too!

Thanks! Great pics - gorgeous babies. :D

Lisa, when you say "without crossing over" what do you mean? Can the nappies be done up tighter than the smallest setting? Also, at what weight did you move Izzy into Large (if you did?)

Thanks for posting the Lime pic, tinkerbellkir, Seth looks v comfy. it's hard to get an idea of how vivid the colours actually are from the Itti pics on sales websites, but I see - they are pretty bright. :)

Well the poppers can cross over to make the waist smaller, so the one side clips on the the other side, rather than both sides clipping to the front of the nappy

I only started her with the ittis in large not long ago, so cant say when she would have moved from medium had she been in them

the colours are very bright and fabulous! you wont be disapointed with the colours at all!

I measured it on the crossed over setting for another lady, and it was 28cm

Thanks Lisa. I did see the other Itti thread, very helpful. :)

Am I right in thinking the waist measurement is quite low down because of the Ittis being low-rise? So would I measure right above his hip bones, or higher up?

I have millions of these

They're all SIO except the orange which is AIO. Not had him weighed recently but reckon he's about 14lb ish. They're mediums.

I also have Lime, Jade, Turquoise, and chocolate but not got pics of them. xx

Thanks Katy. :) Fab pics, Edward is a cutie!

How do you find drying times of the SIO vs the AIO?

Also, others who use the SIO - do you have spare sets of inserts, and do you actually use them?

And - how are the inserts for staining? Do they wash well? (Even though I use fleece liners I still usually get stains, Adam is a bit of a poo monster since weaning, it's rare that he doesn't shit in a nappy these days. )

I have 16 full sets (including the mini booster) and 6 booster sets

Most of the time I use at least 4/5 of the boosters - obviously sometimes the nappy is wet or got poop on so they don't get reused, but if the nappy only had a small wee and the outer is dry its okay to use again with fresh inserts

I wash on the 3rd day so I think that means I re-use 1-2 outers per day - although some days it has been that they all go in the wash.

They are fine for cleaning - Izzy does some monster poos although the fleece normally holds it but even when it escapes I can wash the marks out (I get the poo off before putting in the bucket)
In answer to your other Q - yes they are quite low so measure the waist like under the frog belly!

I've only just washed the AIO for the first one so not sure, the outers for the SIOs are pretty much dry when they come out the wash though and the inserts not too bad. I have extra inserts and do use them if he hasn't pooped :) xx

This is all of mine except the red on the washing line

thanks ladies.

couple more questions:

- can the SIO be boosted with something other than an actual Itti booster/insert? how much stuffing space is there, if any?
- can the shell be used with other inserts - not as a wrap over a different nappy but with, say, a prefold?

took the plunge and ordered a large red SIO. no idea if it'll fit any time soon; Adam is 21lb now and chubbing out but I haven't had a chance to measure his waist yet.

Hi Hun.

Seth is roughly 15lb ish and i reckon by 20lb he will be out of the Mediums so i think large will fit your LO.

There isnt any other stuffing space in the SIO although you can buy the mini boosters.
Im not sure if the shell could be used with another insert i would think theres a way but as the inserts popper on it keeps them in place, TBH i dont have any other booster sets and just chuck the whole thing in the wash!

I find the drying times on the SIO and AIO pretty similar. The colours are really birght and i dont think you will be dissappointed.

Hope you love yours when it comes as much as i love mine !

I have extra boosted with a Little Lamb bamboo insert folded in half lengthways and then placed on the middle of the normal trifold insert, and then that gets folded over the top of it
I did this because I only have 16 mini boosters for my full sets - so my extra booster sets don't have the mini booster, so I popped the bamboo in there and it worked well -obviously a lot more bulky than the mini booster but it did a good job!

As for the second question - yes in theory you could use it with a prefold BUT the Ittis are quite trim between the legs and also low rise - which may not fit over a prefold - but I don't use these so I can't say for sure.

Tomorrow I may experiment with an Itti over a shaped nappy - although I think before even trying that the Itti outer won't cover the nappy inside!

I think the large may well fit him! Izzy is over that weight but the nappy will go smaller! It wont be long anyway if it is a bit big now.

thanks Tinkerbellkir and Lisa. :) Just checking because 2-3 hours is at the lower end of the scale of what I'd hope to get out of a nappy (wee-wise anyway) and I am used to boosting the hell out of my BGs and Flips. I'd love to change him more often but he is such a nightmare at nappy time that I simply cannot face it!

One more question...

I am still Itti-less but hoping it'll turn up tomorrow. :D

So I have to start prewashing. I intend to soak the inserts in a bucket of water but I have a regular nappy wash planned for tomorrow anyway, so I'll stick them in. But what about the outer (red)? How colourfast are they? I wouldn't stick a never-washed red item in with my nappies, so there's no danger, but how many washes should I do before it is ok in with everything else?

I use Colour Catchers but have had some mixed-wash mishaps even with them, and it's always been with red...
