Merry Christmas everyone!

@littlewitch officially full term now, yay!

@Laurabub84 aw sorry to hear your son's in the hospital for Christmas. I went through similar with my older daughter as a 3 month old. RSV can be so scary when they're so little.

@NDH happy due date!

Unfortunately for us Charlie’s spending his first Christmas in hospital. We had to bring him in wednesday as he’d caught my 3 year olds cough and cold and he started struggling with his breathing. He has rsv and bronchitis and is needing help with oxygen and back to tube feeds. Just horrible him being so poorly and missing Christmas with my other children but it can’t be helped. Hoping he’ll turn this corner and we’ll be home soon.

Aww I'm so sorry. I hope he's OK and you're both home soon :hugs:

Well there's still 3 hours left in Christmas day, so jts not *entirely* impossible I could end up with a due date baby, but it's not very likely either as I have no strong labour signs going on. My birthday is the 27th so now DH is convinced baby will be born tomorrow, exactly between Christmas and my birthday. But he's pulling for a new years day baby now :haha: I would rather a December baby though so hoping I have less than 7 days to go.

@Laurabub84 oh so sorry Charlie is back in hospital that must be really upsetting for you having to have Christmas day without him or while going back and forth :hugs:
Great 37 week bump @littlewitch and happy due date @NDH! It's all happening for you ladies so so close!! @NDH are you all set up now with the pool, power, water etc?

I've got a cold too from the kids so I'm feeling pretty shattered from hosting for Xmas, being pregnant and feeling poorly! I've gotta say I'm glad Xmas is over now tbh and I can relax a bit mentally and focus on baby prep x

Had my ultrasound on the heart today and saw a specialist. It's been officially confirmed there's nothing wrong and everything is healthy. Im relieved to know for sure but suspected it would be okay after the heart was normal last week on the doppler. Baby is also head down and it's looking good for a vbac with a midwife delivery. Thank you ladies. We finally got home today after another full week in. He’s doing so much better now. Was a scary time and just heartbreaking seeing him go through that when he’s so tiny. So many poor little baby’s in with this awful virus.
Charlie’s a whole month old tomorrow. I can’t believe how quickly that’s gone and he’s already changing. Due to his reduced feeds over the last week he only gained a couple of ounces so is now 6lb 9oz. I couldn’t breastfeed while he was in and they couldn’t provide a breast pump for days so I’m really worried this will be the end of that already and I’m feeling just devastated about it. Feel like we didn’t really stand a chance at it with him spending 3 out of the 4 weeks he’s been here being tube feed. I have brought myself a pump for home and I’m really going to try and build my supply up again but I’m not feeling very hopeful about it as I never seem to be able to produce much and always have to top up with formula. Feels like I’m just not ever meant to breast feed as it always goes wrong and it makes me so sad as I really want to be able to give him the best. I’m not ready to give it up already when I’ve not even had much chance to start.
It was so tough being in hospital and missing Christmas with my other children but the hospital were amazing. I was given so many gifts for Charlie. When I woke Christmas morning I found a sack of presents for him at the end of my bed. Seeing Santa come round bringing present for the poorly children and their faces lighting up, it’s just incredible that people out there make this happen. It’s something I now intend to give back next year after seeing first hand how hard it is for the children and their family’s at Christmas stuck in hospital. Really hoping that was our last stay now.

Amazing news. So pleased for you that baby is perfectly healthy. I really hope you get the birth you want

@Teanna fantastic news about the heart and the vbac x
@Laurabub84 awww that's so adorable that they brought round presents! So glad you guys are back home. Charlie is soooo cute. Good luck breastfeeding. I say forget the pump and just keep putting him on the breast as often as he needs x

@Laurabub84 glad to hear Charlie's home and feeling better. It's so nice he got presents for Christmas and made it as special as they could for those in the hospital.

I had the same problem when my older daughter had RSV at 3 months. I had trouble pumping while she was in and she wouldn't eat so lost almost all my supply. I doubled down on my pump schedule when we got home and got it back after a few weeks. It's possible but takes some time.

I’ve tried feeding him myself today and he’s just cried like he’s not getting anything. I’ve ended up having to give him formula every time. I’m heartbroken I can’t provide for him. Feeling really down about it. To make matters worse my mum has tested positive for covid today and she was with me and Charlie all of yesterday morning. He’s just got over the worst of the rsv and now there’s a chance he could come down with this over the next couple of days. Everything just seems to be going wrong

:hugs: @Laurabub84 fxd you don't both get covid!! There's just so much going round right now we are all ill too. Im up half the night coughing and getting up and down is so uncomfortable now! Every time I cough hard I'm leaking pee too lol.
Are you sure he's not using you as a dummy and that's why you feel like he's not getting much? My first used to want to be on the breast all the time but she was just using it as comfort as I've never used dummies. As long as he's fed and happy though you are doing a fab job xxx
