January JellyBean mummies

Hello mummies!!

Toby is sleeping so I'm having some me time - yes I really should be asleep lol but I wasn't too tired and OH was looking knackered bless him. He's trying to do everything for cos I am feeding Toby alot and then although we are getting some sleep, because its broken think he is suffering a bit. He woke up at 3am last night and told me the baby was awake. I said he isn't and actually Toby didn't wake up for another hour. Think he is hyper sensitive to him grunting etc in his sleep cos he's shot up a few times now in the past few nights.

Susie Toby is still going through his first packet of huggies although I have used the random sample pampers ones too so I'm thinking he's gone through about 30 in 5 days?!? He doesn't seem to poo a lot at the minute so when he does i cheer lol! I was worried he was constipated but apparently its very rare for BF babies to get this. I just have to be patient and he will go when he needs to lol. Like tonight when 2 days worth came pouring out. Luckily the huggies kept it in! YAY! :happydance:

Another thing is its a good job our car seat reclines as Toby doesn't seem to like his moses basket and has taken to sleeping in his car seat laid flat. It holds him tighter and we swaddle him too - I would hughly recommend the snuggle pod for premature babies from mothercare! Its for babies up to 10lbs and is like a diamond shape with a padded head thing and a velcro tab across the tummy. Toby seems to like this! Anyway my moses basket is currently redundant. But the car seat is meant as a sleeping travel cot replacement so hey hum! As long as hes happy!

Sending wishes for Joe tomorrow! Hope it all goes well!

We've got great grandparents in the afternoon and my parents in the evening tomorrow so may not be on here!

Lots of hugs from me and Toby (who i think is waking up now)!

Hey girls, just nipping in to say hello  my mum left today  but OH's parents are here, which is good but its not the same as your own and its sounds horrible but i just dont trust his mum as much as my own with holly and feel like i have to watch her like a hawk. My mum took her on her own a few nights and really helped out but i just dont feel like i can leave her with OH mum.

Thanks ladies I do have that cream And have also been rubbing the milk on the gals! Hope the pain eases soon. I have been running around topless for too many days now to let them get air.

Great weight gain Alex!

Yay for double pram Fraggles!

Wow, I don't know how you can walk around topless!!! If I did that, I'd be showering everything with milk. I've soaked my LO more than once already, especially when she's had trouble latching on. The pain can be due to your LO not latching on deep enough, so the tongue might be flicking the nipple, which causes friction, rawness, and even cracking or bleeding. I have the same trouble with Madison. The cream definitely helps, though!

Madison had her first pediatric appointment today. She now weighs 7lbs 3oz and measures 20 inches. Doctor says she's super strong and healthy. Now she doesn't have to be seen again until she's 2 months old! On more good news, I was contacted by my job. I had just started at Disney when I had to leave because all of my difficulty with my pregnancy. I was able to work maybe 3 months... and they have a 120 day probation where they can let you go for any reason. So, I've been worrying about the status of my job. I got a call today offering me a full-time position (I had only been part time). :happydance:This means guaranteed hours, preferred shifts, and WAY better health insurance! I really needed this, and it couldn't have come at a better time! Just thought I'd share my happiness with you all.

Hi ladies. Cant even remember which threads i have posted on so im not going to post all the birth info (let me know if i did not post it on this one and i will post it next time.

I thought BFing was going pretty good. Quinn feeds for about 45 mins to an hour each time today so I thought it was going good but his last 2 feeds his diaper was dry. So after this feed I gave him an ounce of formula just to make sure hes getting something. Boy am I glad teh hospital sent me home with some formula because i didnt buy any. Im not going to give formula for the next few feeds and see how his diapers are and if hes not peeing im going to call the hospital in the morning and see what they say but im pretty sure it should be wet after every feed....right?

Laura, has your milk come through yet?

Lisa, not long till you can see your family in the UK again  Sorry your mum had to leave :(

Mackenzie is 2 weeks old today :) I took her to be weighed and she has gained the weight she'd lost in hospital and more!! The way she drinks, I'm not surprised.

Hodbert I totally get the only your mum is ok to do the caring I feel totally the same.

Mom2B all that suckling will get your milk in, have you tried hand expressing I did this last time and used a syringe to give extra milk.

Laura I was worried about Toby doing this at first. It took a good few days for everything to get going properly and he still worries me a bit when he doesn't seem that regular. Specially the poo end! And congratulations on the birth as I don't think I have said it yet!!! Love the name Quinn!

Hope your feeling ok Lisa. I'm dreading OH going back to work already and my mum has told me she has booked that week off work to help me out bless her. You'll be over here soon hun with your family again :happydance:

Regina thats awesome news congrats hunny :flower:

Go Mackenzie! Bless her - glad she is feeding well hun!

Fraggles how are you feeling and how is little Jacob?

hi we are back there were about 7 babies who had their tongues done and they said Joes was the tightest they had that morning and it would bleed more because of that! Love him, he was the only baby that cried! He is still a bit unsettled at the moment, but you can see on the tip of the tongue where it was so tight. He is feeding less messier but only taking 2oz at a time. They said he would be less windier and if we didnt get it cut there would of been speech probs..Cant believe the difference though, I didnt realise just how tight it was until it was released...love him, he's got to get used to feeding with a proper tongue again. Well worth going though

Smiffy Jacob is great im sat in awaiting the mw (its not my normal one) so who knows when she'll turn up. Need to be reviewed for weight loss today, but im not overly worried as my last LO lost 13% birth weight we are currently on a 9% loss.

Must say my boobs feel ready to explode I feel like im going to shower the room as soon as I remove my clothes :haha:

I tried to express a little just to see if it was milk yet cuz my boobs do hurt a bit today. I think my milk is coming in now, it was slightly white. I was told because i had a section it could take a day or two longer to come in.
Glad to know it has happened to some of you too. I never had dry diapers with my daughter but i had to supplement with every feed for her and it caused major problems with BFing. Im hoping to avoid the problems this time and im only going to supplement once or twice a day if needed. After all i dont want to starve my little man.

Laura, just be careful with supplementing. He could take to the bottle because it is easier to suck and not want to take the breast again. It happened to a friend of mine. Good luck hun :hugs:

Sar, I'm glad it's over with. Give little Joe a hug from me.

Disney - Congrats on the new job!!!

Sar - glad it went well with Joe.

Laura - your milk may not be in yet. Mine took longer due to csection. Another option is to pump a bit and you could cup feed it to Quinn to avoid nipple confusion. Good luck.

Kieran's last 2 feeds were only 15-20 mins instead of 25-35 mins any ideas why he would change his times?

OH dont worry I know all about nipploe confusion. My daughter had it bad because of supplementing. I also had a million other problems because they had me pumping after each feeding too which led to to much milk becuse they never told me when to stop pumping.

But I think we are ok now. My milk is definatly in and Quinns last diaper was REALLY wet. Im so happy!!!!!!!! Isn't it amazing how the littlest things just make your day now that your a mommy!!!!

Glad to hear Laura :) It's so true what you say. When Mackenzie burps it's one of the highlights of our day, lol.

Catherine - Keiron may be getting more effective at sucking so quicker :)

Hows everyone?

I been crying all day again :nope:

:hugs: Jade, is it hormones?

Glad Joe got his tongue sorted Sarah, bless him! And yey for bfing going well laura! Jolene, I was only saying last night how funny it is that we cheer for burps in our house now!!

I am pretty teary yet again - thought I was getting over it! To be honest though he problem is I just want to go home for good. I am miserable and lonely out here and now Holly is here it has just magnified things. Theres very little we can do though as OH commited to a year in Cali which is until september, so I just have to wait it out. I just feel like I am missing people so much and all my support, plus I feel like family and Holly are missing out on each other - they will only see her twice in the next 9 months  Its really hard.

Anyway, enough of me feeling sorry for myself! Hope u r all ok.

:hugs: jade. Is everything okay?????

Spoke too soon kieran just had a whopping 45 minute feed while we were at the chiropractor but this was huge for me to BF while out. I've been so scared to do it and it felt wonderful to overcome th fear!

Me and OH had a major row and i took a load of stuff out on him. Just need a break to be honest, feel like a shit mum, am knackered, feel guilty about shouting at Caine and not spending so much time with him. Bursting into tears at random times and I had a major rant earlier and OH didnt know what to do with me :nope: I went berserk. Yep think its baby blues coupled with tiredness and too much on my mind.

Hope you lovely ladies are ok xx
