Hey girls. Has anyone seen the ff thread in baby club? Its making me sooo mad I wish they'd just delete it :growlmad: Anyway....just had to say that as theres no way I would post over there, I'd get shot down!! :gun: I find a lot of the girls over there sooooo opinionated that heaven forbid you disagree with them!

Hope u r all good, Holly has had a v awake day today and I'm running out of things to do with her. I cant get out of apartment as in-laws have gone out with my keys (with permission obv), she loves her playmat but cant go on it long without getting overwhelmed and the swing & bouncer are the same. Shes laid next to me on sofa at the mo having a kick around but I feel like I shld be interecting with her, I just dont know with what?

PS JColeman welcome and love ur avatar - go Leeds!

Welcome jcoleman :flower:

Laura - from what I have been told about BFing I think 7 hours is too long to sleep but who knows seems every which way you turn has different advice/opinions. What ar your mummy instincts telling you?

Is anyone around to make me feel better?? Kieran has been unsettled almost all day and I am crying and losin it here!! He is fed, changed etc and just will not stop crying!! DH is working all night long so I am all alone here and feel like I am losin my sanity!

Lisa - yes I seen that thread! Only read a bit of it. A least we all have each other here. We have such a good group of non opinionated gals here!

Will update sig when I get to a computer I use my phone most of the time , I have been too busy sorting out costumes for my daughters play I had half of them but she decided to tell me this morning she needed 2 more outfits for it what a nightmare oh well they keep me busy between them

LO is not liking being put down at all today... She will completely in a deep sleep and I will set her down in her bassinet... about 2 or 3 minutes later she's screaming until I rock her back to sleep and start over... its been a vicious cycle! Tonight will be a rough night :(

Holly def has days like that and its so hard when you're on your own. She generally stores them up for when nobody is around to take the pressure off and I've had a really bad night's sleep! If its getting too much just put him down and go in an other room for 5 minutes, have a cry, take a deep breath, whatever you need. He will be fine for 5 mins. Do you have a car? I've heard a lot of people going out in the car in the middle of the night as it settles babies really well. Lots of :hugs:

Lisa - I ended up calling the airline to ask about a bassinet and the plane only has 1 an it is first come first serve upon check in at the airport. Hope we are the lucky ones but not counting on it! We're going to by a baby hammock that you strap to your tray table. Never heard of them before but a girl at Breastfeeding group told me about them. The website is flyebaby if you are interested at all.

Thanks for the tip, will check it out. Would def try and get a bassinet though hun as leg room is limited enough without a baby hammock too!

I started reading that thread and decided it was better to ignore it. There are reasons that breastfeeding doesn't work for some people. Avery was so sleepy the first 10 days, I could barely get her to take an ounce from a bottle, let alone latch on.

It's hard when they're awake for too long. Avery was awake for 3 hours this evening. I hold her and talk to her, but that only lasts for so long. Fortunately she's fond of her playmat and mirror, but I feel guilty just leaving her there. I have tried reading books to her, but sometimes it feels silly.

Ive not seen the thread on FF, but I know some threads on here can get heated. I am very pro BF which im sure comes across on here but im not one to slate others I think we do what we think is right for children. I'd always be one to support people trying BF but nt everyone can do it or wants to do it. I think as long as we are doing what we think is best for our own child we can only offer advise and opinion rather than slate people. I get angry when people get rude to each other in threads makes me want to speak out.

thanks girls. I do think 7 hours is too long....especially cuz my boobs hurt and i dont want them to stop producing milk. Im sure it was just a random night of sleep. Will see how he does tonight and if he sleeps taht long again i will be setting an alarm to wake him once during the night. If he sleeps a 5 hour stretch I dont mind that but yes i do think 7 is too long for his age and size.

LL1- try putting the carseat on the dryer while its running...ive heard it works wonder and you also get some laundry done at the same time.

oh but dont leave Kieran unattended as the chair can shake and rock and fall off the dryer. Hope it helps and your feeling better. Hugs!!!!!

Thanks for the tip. We made it through the night! I have done this in the past - will have to remember I for next time

Well looks like im going to have to set my alarm and wake Quinn up at night. I fed him at midnight and he woke up at 8:30am. Thats WAY too long for a newborn to sleep im sure of it.

I was awake until 3am thou listening to him breathe, and cough. This is really starting to bother me. Its been going on for 2 weeks now and its not getting better. Ive been using the nasal drops 4 times a day since Thursday and im still not seeing any mucous coming out when i suction his nose.

I need you all to do something for me thou. when your babies are asleep can you put your hand on their chest for about 10-15 minutes and see if they hold their breathe at all. Last night I was so worried about Quinns breathing. About every minute or two he would hold his breathe. Only for a few seconds, like 10 secs. But im not sure if its normal or not as i dont reemmber my daughter doing it.

The other part that worries me is sometimes when he did start breathing again he would sound like hes gasping for breath....almost like he couldn't breathe and when he could he would breathe really fast. Do any of your babies do this?????? I was actually crying last night i was so worried he wouldnt start breathing again. But he did this for 2.5 hours before i decided he must be ok because he would always start to breathe again. And now i just need to know if any other babies do it...is it normal?
