January JellyBean mummies

I didnt get one single stretchie this time, but got tonnes with Caine :(

:hugs: Jolene - hope the cluster feeding passes soon

Jade - glad you got some sleep. Kieran fed at 12, 3, 5 and 8. Pretty typical. His night feeds are pretty good in that once he feeds, change bum, swaddle him and lay him between us he is usually back asleep very fast. Fingers crossed I havent just jinxed it!

Thanks for adding me Lisa!

I've gone and done it here are my 4 weeks post pregnancy pics with my last bump pic, too.

Damnn your looking good girl. Im jelous!!!

Have a good time Sar!

Lisa, cant post pics as OH has just dropped the camera on the floor and bloody broke it :(

Aw no! Whats Regina gonna say??!! :haha:

ive just realised that im an imposter... not even a January Jellybean, and almost not a December one even, was very nearly a November baby how funny!

I technically was never a JJ but I didnt feel the same 'connection' with the dreamers by the time I joined them, if u know what I mean?

Ergh I may have to un-friend you now! You look fab, wheres those stretchmarks lady?? Everyone should have them if I have to!! :sulk:

Thanks Lisa. Somehow I was lucky and didn't get any stretchies  but Kieran was almost 2 weeks early so that may have had something to do with it.

I dont think you can blame the no stretchies on baby beig 2 weeks early. Quinn was 3 weeks early and he gave me more stretchies than my daughter who was only 9 days early. And size of baby does'nt count for less stretchies either just so everyone knows. Quinn was tiny and i still got lots of stretchies from him. I HATE STRETCH MARKS!!!!!

Bah! Holly was a week early, I still seemed to get quite a few! They only appeared in last week too. No fair!! :winkwink:

I feel your pain Laura!

A quick post... don't seem to have much time lately for anything but reading and running every other day or so.

Yay to Lisa, sarah, Cat, and everyone else who posted your after-baby-bumps! You all look fabulous! jms.... broken schmoken... where's the proof???? lol

I'm so tired of bleeding!!!!! I think I've ruined half of my underwear. Plus, I'm the type of woman who loves lounging around naked in her home... I hate clothes! When I'm bleeding, I have to wear damn underwear- it's not like we're allowed to use tampons!

For all of you bf mummies having trouble cluster-feeding, what I would do (and it only works half the time... the last few days have been terrible, but more on that later) is right before bed time, feed expressed milk until the LO is full, burp him/her, change the diaper, and feed a bit more just to top him/her off to put him/her in a deep food coma. lol. Seems to work pretty well with Madison. I tried just having her latch on all day today, but she doesn't eat as much when she latches on, so she gets hungry more frequently- ouch! I understand all of your concerns about nipple confusion, but honestly, Madison hasn't had that problem. She'll latch on when I offer it to her, but it might just take a few extra tries to get her to latch than it might if I was exclusively offering the breast.

Gripe water is wonderful. Madison's been burping and passing gas all the time and it pains her... plus she gets the hiccups often so that adds more air in her belly. The gripe water settles her right down and she likes the taste! (It's mainly fennel, ginger, and glycerine water, but she seems to like it!) I'm proud of her- as much pain as she might be in, she always seems to be in a good humor even when she's fussing.

She also has had some congestion, so we bought a humidifier for her. I don't know if that's what did the trick, but she's getting better. Plus the sucker bulbs for her nose help keep her nose clear so she can breathe. Also, she seems to like when I use the big sucker bulb to get the filmy mucus from her mouth- she even opens up wide so that I can get it out of the back! She's so cute!

Welcome to all the new mummies. Dream dust sent to all the jj mummies and babies. We need sleep! Sorry if I missed anything else important... time to go wash dishes, pump, wolf down some food, and maybe, if I'm lucky, steal a couple winks.

Regina........How much and how often are you giving her the gripe water>? Quinn maybe burps once a day but he toots after every meal and almost always poops too! Hes not that fussy during the day but evening sometimes he wants to cluster feed and i wonder if its just gas thats making him think he need to eat all the time. So I was thinking of giving him gripe water to help him burp but not sure how often i should give it to him?

Anyone else have tips on this please feel free to jump in as well!

I know I already responded on facebook, but I'll put the info on here for anyone else who might have that problem.

I give Madison the recommended dose (1/2 teaspoon every 4 hours or so) and I make sure it's after a feeding. I use a medicine dropper, but I have to let her be the one to suck, otherwise she just spits out the medicine. I don't know if it helps her to toot or burp more, but I know it relieves the discomfort. As long as your LO is tooting, at least he's passing the gas out one orifice. I wouldn't give him the medicine unless it's causing discomfort, although I don't know if it would cause any harm if you give it to him to try and help him burp... I just don't know if it is supposed to do that. The main ingredients are ginger and fennel root anyways, so I don't think it would hurt.

I guess because I spend so much time with her, I can just tell by the way she moves and cries.

I'm sure you would. It's just the way she kicks and strains like she's constipated. It breaks my heart because you can tell by her cry, she's not just fussy... she's in pain.

My LO is in a lot of pain too :( it breaks my heart! The gripe water helps slightly, and we've tried Mylicon also (but that doesn't seem to be working) We think she's colicky.. :(

Cat I can tell by Holly's cries, . When she cries for food its more a waa waa that if left too long turns into a bleating but pain cries are more screams that are loud and constant and she just sounds in pain. She also pulls her legs up to her tummy and then stretches them straight back out again in a sudden movement. Also if shes been changed, fed and burped and theres nothing else wrong. Dont know if that helps.

Gas pains cry - more of a cry pain, pulling legs up, arching back etc....

I REALLY have broken the camera LOL off to get a new one today!

Hope everyone is ok!

Alexander wont let me put him down today :dohh:

ooh thats not good Jade, I can totally sympathise on the pain, thought I had a UTI brewing but only got to walk in centre this morning by which point every time a go wee I'm doubled over in agony, and yes I did indeed have a UTI so got some antibiotics to take.

Also been to get Fearne weighed today she is now 8lb 5oz so nearly at her birth weight already! She is still feeding like a dream although the cluster feeds from tea time til bedtime can be a bit rough on the nips and trying to get things done lol.

Hope susie is coming over to join us on here today, thinking of you susie xx

asked my stupid husband to come home from work to pick up corey from school because the pain from this UTI is a bit much for the school run and yet again he's too busy at work grrrr, I understand working for himself is a lot of pressure but ffs surely he can put us first just now and again!

Hope everyone else is ok and LO's doing well x

ive just realised that im an imposter... not even a January Jellybean, and almost not a December one even, was very nearly a November baby how funny!

I'm not really a jellybean either.... Dont tell anyone though they might evict me! :haha: everyone here seemed to be going through the same stages as me rather than the December dreamers x x

I think a bunch of us were in a hurry and had December babies. In the US that means an extra tax deduction. :happydance:

Almost to the end of the month, can't be too many January babies waiting to be born yet.

DisneyDancer, if you're still bleeding heavily, you should see your OB. I don't think you should be bleeding a lot after 3 weeks.

Jo :grr: whack your OH hope the uti clears up soon.

Well J's constant feeding has taken it's toll on my nipples and ive had a little cry today. Think im just over tired. Think ive only had an hour and half sleep in the last 2 days

I feel like a terrible mummy as I really have no idea if/when kieran has gas pains

:hugs: Fraggles

Catherine, he prob doesnt hun :hugs: they dont all get it xx Caine hardly ever did, he just cried cos he wanted picking up all the time! LOL
